Plumb Memorial Library’s Children’s Department will be exitedly hosting 2- Wonderful & FREE Children’s Programs featuring The Arts in CT:

🎶New Haven Symphony Orchestra presents their “Instrument Petting Zoo”
An opportunity for children to not only hear beautiful music from a professional musician yet it also features a hands-on opportunity for kids to explore musical instruments themselves.
**Please note there are NO animals during this program.
Ages: 4-12 years old
Date: Saturday, 6/20/26
Time: 10:30 AM-11:30 AM
Location: Plumb Memorial Library

🩰The Connecticut Ballet presents “Backstage at the Ballet”. Plie, arabesque, pirouette, have a child interested in ballet? Plumb's Children's Department is excited to introduce our special guests, the Connecticut Ballet as they provide a very unique ballet children's experience at our library.
Children and their caregivers:
1) will learn about ballet, pointe shoes & choreography
2) view up-close 3-ballet exercepts from famous ballet performances
3) and finally have a chance to ask questions & Meet and Greet the professional ballet performers too
Ages: 5-12 years old
Date: Saturday, June 27, 2026
Time: 1 PM-2 PM

Plumb is open today, Friday, 5/29/26: till 5 PM

Busy few days with many wonderful library programs:
Wednesday, 5/27/26: Library Director, Joan Stokes hosted the very talented thespians of Valley Shakespeare Festival as they performed their final performance of
“Julius Caesar on Tour” to an attentive & large audience at Plumb Memorial Library. It was fantastic!

Missed last night? Happy to share Valley Shakespeare will perform again this summer for
“Free Shakespeare in the Park”.

Thursday, 5/28/26: I hosted a children’s craft program: “Tissue Paper Flowers Workshop” earlier this evening. Take a look at the beautiful bouquets our young crafters “bloomed”.

Thursday. 5/28/26: Shelton Library Director, Joan Stokes & I participated in the Shelton Public Schools ELL Summer Reading Kickoff!

We provided Shelton children’s program calendars, information about Summer Reading,
applications for library cards, book gift bags, bookmarks and many old friends stopped over to say hello and a few new ones came to introduce themselves. It was a lovely opportunity for the Shelton Libraries to collaborate again with the Shelton Public Schools.

Special thanks to TESOL Teacher, Maria Zampano and Supervisor of Teaching & Learning, Ernestina Xavier for inviting us to participate.
