Shelton Parks and Recreation is looking to hire Lifeguards available during the school year. This is not a summer seasonal position.

12 to 29 hours per week, weekdays and/or weeknights preferred. Easy to schedule around school and sports. We encourage students from local colleges to apply.

Applicants must be a minimum of 16 years old and hold a current American Red Cross Lifeguarding (Deep Water) certification.

If you are interested in becoming a certified lifeguard, please check out our website for American Red Cross Lifeguarding courses. Registrations are open now for a course in July.

Shelton Parks and Recreation presents our Summer Playground Program which has been running since 1962. It is open to resident children and the program runs for 6 weeks over the summer. Activities include sports, board games & arts and crafts. Most weeks a field trip is scheduled and available to program participants for a fee. A party will be held on the last day of each camp!
The camp does close for inclement weather.
Cash donations for arts and crafts supplies are welcome.
