The Kiwanis Club of Shelton has been serving the community since 1924. Since that time, members have been active in the community serving "Pancakes in the Park" for over 60 years, awarding numerous scholarships to colleges, trade schools and to the Kiwanis Youth Law Enforcement Camp. Shelton Kiwanians have been keeping things clean by participating in the Washington Adopt-A-Highway Program for mor

e than 20 years. And, the Club takes part in the OysterFest seafood festival each year and is active with city parks and the recent establishment of Shelton's first community garden, Catalyst Park.

Betty was a longtime Kiwanian and a treasured member of our club and our community.

As our Lord loves us, we are to love one another. We take comfort in knowing that Betty was an example of His love. The objectives of Kiwanis give us direction and guidance in our human relationships. We give primacy to the human and spiritual rather than the material Values of life. We attempt to lead the way from despair to fulfillment, from destruction to creation, from apathy to action and from fear to peace of mind.

We know that her family and friends will miss her, but we want them to know that we
appreciated her friendship and that we too will miss her. Each of us, in accordance with his own faith, will pray for our fine departed fellow.

Thank you to everyone who helped make the 71st Annual Pancakes in the Park a success! All proceeds from this event benefit youth programs in Mason County.

We are grateful to all of our breakfast-goers (that's you!) for returning after a two-year break to enjoy this community tradition. It was wonderful to see so many familiar faces and to meet some new friends too!

Our appreciation goes out to all of our community partners whose support of this event makes it possible for us to reach more kids.

Shout out, also, to the talented local musicians who graced our pavilion stage and added ambiance to the entire event: The Angel & The Outlaw (Kathy Jonas & Craig Gurney); The Dills Family; and Lost Above The Owls.

Lastly, we wish to recognize City of Shelton, WA - Government and their incredible Parks & Maintenance staff (Luke & Co.) who worked to ensure that the venue had plenty of seating, working electrical, clean restrooms, and emptied trash. We appreciate you!
