This winter! Agriculture Entrepreneurship and Business Planning Course

This course will walk you through the steps to create a farm business plan through weekly online classes with guest speaker farmers and resource providers and connections in regional groups.
Tuesdays, January 20- March 1, 2026, 6-8pm with in-person intensives on Feb 28 and March 7.

Location: Virtual, statewide with Spanish interpretation
Cost: $200 Scholarships available to anyone for whom the class fee is a barrier

🥕 I have had such a great time helping out some of the CHOICE High School students and their teacher with their school garden! We have been harvesting delicious veggies and herbs and getting the garden ready for bed.

🌿 Join us for a workshop at the beautiful Farm at Water's Edge!

This is a Certified Salmon Safe farm that has a U-Pick vegetable garden, CSA box service, community garden, chickens, and small ruminants. We will join Farm Manager Heather Hamilton to learn about the stewardship practices they implement to protect salmon health.

The workshop will touch on the following topics:

Vegetable Gardens & Production
Food Forests
Native Pollinator Habitat
Season Extension
Livestock & Manure Management

We will start promptly at 4pm and will be taking a tour of the entire farm; this will include walking on uneven ground. Please dress appropriately for the weather.

This course walks you through creating a plan for your future or current farm. Weekly Zoom classes on Monday evenings feature WSU Extension professionals, resource providers, and farmer speakers. Help provide input on a potential citizen science program!

A master's student at the University of Connecticut is conducting a short survey to evaluate the potential of using citizen scientists to help with early detection and reporting of plant diseases.

A citizen scientist is "a member of the general public who collects and analyzes data relating to the natural world, typically as part of a collaborative project with professional scientists."

This survey is open to anyone who likes plants, no formal experience necessary - the more diverse audience they get, the better!
