Car show and community event. Proceeds donated to local charity. Organized by Wheels for Hope non-profit. All cars, trucks and motorcycles welcome. Enter at 4th street and West Railroad; event Railroad Avenue from First to Seventh streets. Car Registration is ONSITE ONLY no online 9am - event 10-3pm. Features: Music, Kids area, First responder exhibits, Fire and Sheriff/Police K9 demonstrations, Food & shopping at downtown merchants.

Do you LOVE the car show? We sure do. 4 years ago Cedar students worked with Wheels for Hope to create their website. This launched a wonderful relationship! Wheels for Hope Charity Car Show - We love you.

Each year since, these caring and generous folks hold a parade for our graduates from the school to the Performing Arts Center to help graduates know how much the community celebrates their accomplishments.

We're only ONE of the many ways Wheels for Hope gives back. Save the date and come support this fun and fantastic group.

Do you have a cover on your license plate? You may want to check out the changes made this year to HB 1963 which amends RCW 46.16A.200.

License plates must be kept uncovered to ensure the ability to plainly see and read the license plate.

The unlawful acts relating to display of license plates is broadened to include the use of a license plate cover. In addition, it is unlawful to use any material which conceals, obstructs, or distorts the legibility of the license plate.

Until January 1, 2025, the penalty for using a license plate cover may only be a written
warning.

Last week, we hosted our second annual volunteer recognition event as a way to thank the wonderful volunteers who dedicate so much of their time towards helping our community.

In 2024, we had over 70 volunteers complete over 1,800 hours of work for Shelton. The work that they do is incredibly varied, from serving on our boards and committees to helping install a new playground to picking up trash at our parks.

Thank you to the volunteers! We couldn't do it without you.

It is the season of deals! Are you planning on making a trade with someone instead of purchasing?

Be aware that DOL will only recognize a "like kind" trade to avoid being charged tax on the value of the items traded.

Trades must be for like-kind vehicles, WAC 458-20-247

• Motor Vehicles: Cars, trucks, trucks with canopies, motorcycles, motor homes, mopeds, off-road vehicles, and wheelchair conveyances

• Trailers: Boat trailers, utility trailers, animal trailers, commercial trailers, and all other trailers except travel trailers, tent and camp trailers

• Recreational Vehicles: Travel trailers, campers, tent trailers, camp trailers, and motor homes

• Boats: All

• Snowmobiles: All

If trading two items of equal value straight across, neither party is assessed use tax. If trading items of unequal value, use tax is due on the difference

We have a convenient form for both owners to fill out before heading to the licensing office! Make sure to print 2 copies!
