Because art should be in every school bus 👀

Thanks to our friends at Wells Hollow ( Wells Hollow Farm ) and ARC, for believing in the transformative power of the arts with us.

Shelton Public Schools we can’t wait to hear what students and families think of these new, heARTfelt messages! AND how seeing art like this affects their days…

Like what you see? Let’s bring more art and museum experiences to CT children and youth, together. DM to start a conversation.

What happens when we listen—really listen—to what young people are learning about the world and showing in/through their art? 🌍✨

We learned so much in this month’s student-artist talk, featuring Maya McDougald ( Maya McDougald ). Thank you, Maya, for your call to action for all of us to slow down, make time for art, and try to see what is truly there (not just what we think is there).

Stay tuned for our next student-artist exhibition and talk inside Lotta Studio ( lottastudio.events ) ➡️

🗓️ Once a month.
💓 Time and space to learn with youth.
⭐️ Open to all ages, especially important for art teachers, educators, and families with young children!

Just a little plug for seeing materials differently…

Today, we went to visit our friends at Teaching Beyond the Square ( Teaching Beyond the Square ) and had THE BEST TIME “shopping” in their Materials Center. Inspired by REMIDA ( Remida ), the Materials Center is an incredible resource for early childhood educators looking to adopt more of a new materialist approach to play and learning.

A cardboard tube… a fabric scrap… a jar lid… the start of some beautiful critical and creative thinking…

We can’t wait to play with materials with you back at our HQ ( lottastudio.events ) this Friday, October 9th from 3-8PM!

[Media Descriptions: Pink text celebrates the potential of seeing materials as active protagonists atop photos and videos of the Materials Center in NYC.]

Want to meet a real-life artist (who’s art is in a museum)?

Join us for our next exhibition opening and student-artist talk at Lotta Studio ( lottastudio.events ) THIS THURSDAY, October 8th from 5-7PM.

This special event breaks down barriers to the art world and puts the spotlight on student-artistry. For two hours, you will have a chance to get to know Maya, one of cARTie’s featured student-artists, experience her art, and practice drawing from life alongside her.

See you tomorrow!

[Image Descriptions: (1) A carefully rendered drawing of a young woman with half of her profile as a skeleton has a bright green star with text inviting you to “get to know the artist.” (2) Details for cARTie’s next exhibition opening and student-artist talk are centered in a calendar graphic atop a bright green background.]
