This week, we proudly recognize and celebrate the dedicated EMS professionals who answer the call—day or night, in every season, and during life’s most critical moments.

Our EMTs, Paramedics, volunteers, support staff, and families serve with commitment, compassion, and courage. Behind every response is a team dedicated to providing care, comfort, and readiness for our community.

To our crews: thank you for your professionalism, sacrifice, and the countless hours spent serving others. To our community: thank you for your continued trust and support.

We are honored to serve Shelley, Firth, and the surrounding communities.

Good morning DeputyChief Dodge Ommanney,

"I hope you’ve been doing well! I’m excited to share that I’ve been accepted to the Medical College of Wisconsin’s medical school and will be starting in Summer 2026 in the MD/MS program (Master’s in Physiology).

I cannot thank you enough for taking the time to not only write my letter of recommendation but also for all your support throughout the medical school application process. I’m really grateful to have met and learned from you and will always look back on that experience fondly.

I could not have done it without you.

Some crews share shifts.
Some crews share something more.

In EMS, we share growth. We share pressure. We share responsibility.
And over time… we share who we become.

Every EMT.
Every Medic.
Every student riding third.

Potential sits quietly in each seat of the ambulance.

Sometimes it just needs a crew…
…to recognize it.
…to challenge it.
…to believe in it.

We teach medicine.
But more importantly — we teach each other.

One conversation between calls.
One difficult patient.
One late-night chart review.
One calm voice during chaos.

These moments shape more than providers.
They shape futures.

Recently, I received a message from a former staff member:

“Good morning… I’ve been accepted to the Medical College of Wisconsin’s medical school… I could not have done it without you.”

No single person builds that outcome.
Crews do.
Culture does.
Shared standards do.

Because when we invest in each other,
we elevate more than individuals —
we elevate patient care.

Stronger crews create calmer scenes.
Calmer scenes create better decisions.
Better decisions create better outcomes.

And those outcomes ripple outward…
from the ambulance
to the hospital
to the family
to the community.

This is the quiet legacy of EMS.

We may never see every life we influence.
But we see each other grow.
And that is enough.

Train hard.
Support quietly.
Lead by example.
Invest in potential.

Because today’s partner…
is tomorrow’s leader…
and sometimes…
tomorrow’s physician.

Impact is not loud.
It is consistent.
It is shared.
It is ours.
