We're knocking down the new duplex today!!!

Without any context this could be misconstrued " we are demolishing the duplex" when the reality is we are applying a knockdown texture to the drywall before painting.

Context is so important!!! Context can be a visual cue, tone, or additional literature.

When we have a text conversation and lack the audible tone we can be led down a different path because we are missing that context.

People can be misquoted by taking only a portion of what was said and we begin to form an opinion without the context of the entire statement.

Opinions are formed in different circumstances/situations based on an individuals past experiences but we are missing the context of their history and get defensive and consider them wrong.

And we read devotions or cute fb pictures with a single line of scripture but we do not look at the surrounding scriptures, the historical cues from that period, the intended application, or pray over the verses (CONTEXT) and we begin to apply a false gospel to our lives.

Lesson: Don't knock everything down until you have the full context!

We got a little 🌧 rain 🌧

The 1️⃣st picture is Thursday afternoon after we cranked the dock up as far as we could. The wind 💨 was not helping us!!

The 2️⃣nd picture is Friday morning when we went down to check!

While we aren't completely flooded I'm reminded of God's promise and the visual representation of that promise. A promise that the world didn't deserve but God, being a God of redemption, gave us. 🌈

I have set My rainbow in the cloud, and it shall serve as a sign of a covenant between Me and the earth.

Today we had a state representative visit us...the Missouri state reptile!!! The three toed box turtle(which actually has 5 toes on its front feet) was rescued by Tank from the harm ahead of it and will be returned to the lake soon! For the time being Herald is eating on some strawberries and relaxing out of the rain.

Herald has a built in defense system where his shell hinges completely closed to keep him safe from predators. Another amazing design by our all knowing God!

Then God said, “Let the waters teem with swarms of living creatures, and let birds fly above the earth in the open expanse of the heavens.” And God created the great sea creatures and every living creature that moves, with which the waters swarmed, according to their kind, and every winged bird according to its kind; and God saw that it was good.
