Do you ever wonder what your purpose or calling is? Within the past week I have seen two different families faced with the unimaginable heartache of the death of a loved one. Last week it was my brother in laws family. Today, I sit here with a heavy heart for a family that has lost two of their children and all of their belongings to a house fire. They will go through this process twice within a weeks time.
I had given up on One Mustard Seed due to lack of funds and donations. It seems as though God is tugging at my heart again in this direction....more than the normal. The last thing anyone should have to do is worry about feeding the family after the funeral of a loved one. It is always a last moment unexpected expense that you have no way to prepare for. If the family has a church family, these types of things are normally covered. What about those who don't belong to a church? People who are broken and grieving....the people that go unnoticed. What an opportunity to show those families the true love of Christ! A time to humbly serve another.
I ask that you would pray with me about One Mustard Seed. That God would open the right doors to make this fall into place, if it be thy will. ~Christina

Good morning everyone! Today we will be honoring my fnl by doing a balloon release at the river. I encourage you to take time out for your loved ones. Life is short. Thank God I have his photos to look back on. Have a blessed day!

I started this program soon after the passing of my father in law. Anytime I found myself down or hurting dad would always pat my leg and say "just the faith of a mustard seed, Sis". At the time of the funeral we were struggling financially. The constant trips back and forth to the doctors, rehab, hospitals and finally back and forth to Alabama were he past September 7, 2012. All while juggling our own family expenses and being a senior in college!

Times were emotionally and finically hard. When my sister in law and I were faced with the meal expenses for the whole family after the funeral I felt shame...disappointment... hurt. I felt emotions that I never should have had to face after losing my fnl. (Times are not like they used to be...people do not flood the funeral homes with food dishes for the grieving families.)

I felt my fnl's words as if he were sitting right beside me "just the faith of a mustard seed, Sis". I knew from then on...I could make a difference. I can keep another family from experiencing this on top of their loss.

Through donations and the help of the local funeral homes we have helped a few families. They do not know who we are, but I know a meal after their loved ones funeral was not a burden.

Unfortunately, donations have stopped coming in and families are still facing this issue. For a minute I started to believe that may be this issue was not an issue for other people...may be I was wrong. You know what....? I was wrong....wrong to give up on something that I know is happening to other people just like me. People who are in this situation may not ask for the help.

I am a firm believer that sometimes you have to go through hard difficult times to truly see what is in your face daily. I have found that if you have not experienced something first hand...you are blind to it!

I will continue to promote One Mustard Seed. It is my prayer that someones needs will be met during the time of loss and they will be allowed to grieve without the stress of "how will we feed everyone". Thank you for your support! God Bless you! Please share this page so another grieving family can be helped.
