KUSTAWI is a Swahili word meaning to thrive or to flourish.
At Kustawi Ministries, our Christ-centered mission is twofold:
1. To empower indigenous pastors and spiritual leaders to flourish by walking alongside them through training, equipping, and the provision of essential support and basic needs; and
2. Through the strengthening of indigenous pastors and leaders, to position them to help their churches, communities, and nation flourish in both faith and holistic well-being.

Kustawi is a global Christian initiative dedicated to empowering indigenous pastors and community leaders across East Africa—and ultimately, the world. We strengthen local leadership, cultivate sustainable ministry, and advance human flourishing through discipleship, education, church planting, and humanitarian support.
Our Mission:
To empower indigenous pastors and leaders across East Africa and the globe to reach their people and fulfill their calling in the Great Commission. We accomplish this through church planting, evangelism and outreach efforts, discipleship, education, and humanitarian initiatives.
Why Indigenous Leadership Matters:
Indigenous pastors and leaders are uniquely positioned to effect long-term transformation. They understand local languages, cultural dynamics, economic realities, and spiritual challenges. Yet many lack access to training, resources, and organizational support. Kustawi bridges this gap by equipping leaders who can sustain ministry within their own communities.
