💜 Purple Thursday | Domestic Violence Awareness Month 💜

Today, some of our Leadership Bedford Adult Class of 2027 members wore purple to show their support and raise awareness for domestic violence.

As we recognize Domestic Violence Awareness Month, we want to remind our community that no one has to face abuse alone.

💜 Right here in Bedford County, Haven of Hope provides advocacy and support for those affected by domestic violence, sexual assault, and stalking.

📍 Leadership Bedford Class Day: Community Activation Day

Our Leadership Bedford Class had a great day exploring just a few of the organizations, services, and resources that help keep Bedford County moving forward!
We started the day with a tour of Vanderbilt Bedford Hospital before visiting Shelbyville Power, Water & Sewer Systems to learn more about the essential services they provide to our community. We also enjoyed lunch, a Duck River tour with the TN Duck River Development Agency, and a nonprofit panel focused on community needs and project ideas.

A special thank you to Vanderbilt Bedford Hospital, Shelbyville Power, Water & Sewer Systems, the TN Duck River Development Agency, and all of our speakers and hosts for sharing your time, knowledge, and passion for our community! We are grateful for the opportunity to learn from the people and organizations making a difference right here at home.

Leadership Bedford Class of 2027 is getting involved!

Some of the adult class members participated in the Bedford County Battle of the Badges Blood Drive today.

Leadership is about more than learning—it’s about showing up, serving others, and making a difference. We’re proud to see our class members putting leadership into action and giving back to Bedford County!

📍 Leadership Bedford Class Day: Local Government, History & Tourism

Our Leadership Bedford Class of 2027 spent Wednesday learning more about the people, places, history, and opportunities that make Bedford County such a special place to call home! From the Old Bedford County Rock Jail and historic Shelbyville Square to hearing from local government, the future of the Riverview District, lunch at Glass Hollow, touring Garland King’s Museum, hearing about The Celebration, and hearing more about Walkikg Horse Country and Bridge Bedford, our class had a full day of learning and connection.

A special thank you to the local leaders and community members who shared their time and knowledge with us, including: County Mayor Curt Cobb & local government officials, Linda Yockey, Carol Roberts, City Mayor Randy Carroll, Buck Vallad with the Riverview District, Jeb House with Glass Hollow, Gary King and Glenda McGill with King’s Museum, Warren Wells with The Celebration, Sylvia Pinson with Walking Horse Country Tourism, and Brian Crews with Bridge Bedford.

We’re grateful for the opportunity to learn from those helping shape Bedford County’s past, present, and future. Another great class day in the books!

A great day to kick off another year of Leadership Bedford! 🎉

Our Class of 2027 spent the day at our class retreat focused on team building, building relationships, and getting to know one another as we begin this year’s program.

From stepping outside our comfort zones to working together and having plenty of laughs along the way, the retreat was a great reminder that strong leadership starts with strong relationships. We’re excited to see what this class will accomplish together!

A special thank you to The Webb School for hosting us and helping us kick off another great year of Leadership Bedford! We’re looking forward to all that’s ahead.

We’re excited to welcome the Leadership Bedford Youth Class of 2027! 🎉

We’re excited to welcome a great group of students from across Bedford County to the Youth Leadership Bedford program!
These young leaders will have the opportunity to learn more about our community, connect with local leaders, explore the many industries and organizations that make Bedford County special, and grow their leadership skills along the way.

We’re looking forward to seeing all they accomplish and the impact they’ll make in our community!
