As we enter this Giving Tuesday, would you consider The Care House? Beginning in January we will begin working with the Bedford County Jail by hosting incarcerated parents and their children for visits. We will provide a safe, cozy, home like setting, where they can cook a meal, celebrate birthdays and holidays, play games, read a book and more. We are working this month to get new furniture in the living room and dining room. We are turning the garage into a game room with air hockey, ping pong, board games and a sensory/calming corner. But most important, I want to ask you to pray for us. Pray that we are able to support, encourage, mentor and love these families. That we can walk beside them, help them to break generational curses, to rebuild the relationships with their children and to live in victory!

4 years ago The Care House opened to serve children and families. Since then, we have seen approximately 450 children walk through our door. Thank you to everyone who has helped make our vision a reality. Thank you to those who have given and continue to give. We have some exciting things planned for the future and we thank God for allowing us to continue to serve children and families in our community.

Good afternoon friends,

It’s been a while since we have shared anything, so I wanted to give a quick update. The Care House has been very busy this year. So far, in 2025, we have served almost 50 children. Since we opened in 2021, we have served close to 400 children. If you don’t know what we do, we are a transitional home for children in foster care. We offer a home like setting that has 3 bedrooms and 2 baths. The youth get their own room, home cooked meals and are taught age appropriate life skills, including cooking, washing clothes and how to make their beds. Due to serving so many children, we are in need of toiletry items including shampoo, conditioner, body wash and deodorant. We will have a box set up at New Covenant Christian Bookstore where you can drop the items off. We are always grateful for any monetary donations that would go towards everyday supplies, maintenance and emergency needs for children including new clothes. We also have a goal of turning the garage into a game room, which would include a new couch, chairs, pool table, TV and games.
