We are grateful for the generous contribution from the Department of Tennessee, Veterans of Foreign Wars, VFW to the VFW National Home. Funds were raised through the successful TN Chess Pie program, and a check was presented to Executive Director Mike Wilson during the VFW Legislative Conference in Washington, D.C.

The TN Chess Pie program is a joint program with the Department of Tennessee, Veterans of Foreign Wars, VFW and Grand of TN MOC a program that does cooking classes and help raise money for the VFW National Home. We did our giving and drawing for those that support the program during the with the Grand of Florida.

Humana and Veterans of Foreign Wars to Host “Cooking with a Veteran” Class at VFW National Home

-- Residents of the VFW National Home and local veterans are invited to attend an event to help provide for families as part of the VFW National Day of Service in Eaton Rapids --

WHAT: The Dept. of TN VFW and the Grand of TN M.O.C. is once again pleased to be partnering with top Health and well-being company Humana Inc. as we work to help provide veterans in our community and at the VFW National Home with support.

Thanks to Humana’s continued support for veterans across the world the second annual “Cooking with a Veteran” will once again be traveling to the VFW National Home for the TN Chess Pie Program. Besides the cooking this year the program will also be helping to support new picnic tables, a much-needed item at the National Home for families to gather for events at the community center.

A ribbon cutting for the tables will take place at the VFW National Home at the May 4, 2024 “Cooking with a Veteran” event. This program continues to grow and further this mission thanks to Humana and other supporting organizations like Grand TN M.O.C, Dept. of TN VFW, Grand of KY M.O.C., Dist. 5 Dept. of TN, Dist. 4 Dept. of TN, and M.O.C. Pup Tent 5 Smyrna, TN, The Express Copy and Printing, Shelbyville, TN.
