Shelby Y has reopened and is currently operating at normal hours!

𝙒𝙚’𝙧𝙚 𝙞𝙣𝙘𝙧𝙚𝙙𝙞𝙗𝙡𝙮 𝙩𝙝𝙖𝙣𝙠𝙛𝙪𝙡 𝙛𝙤𝙧 𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝘾𝙧𝙤𝙨𝙨𝙧𝙤𝙖𝙙𝙨 𝙔𝙈𝘾𝘼 𝙩𝙚𝙖𝙢 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙘𝙤𝙢𝙢𝙪𝙣𝙞𝙩𝙮! Since the storms began, our teams have worked tirelessly to safely reopen our Y locations—all while many of our staff have been navigating storm-related challenges at home with their own families.

As we continue to review, reset and restart, you may experience temporary closures, delays or adjusted schedules. Some planned spruce-up closures may also begin early to help minimize multiple disruptions.

💜 GREAT NEWS! Shelby Community YMCA will reopen Friday, 8/14, with regular hours and full operations. All spaces and amenities will be available. We can’t wait to welcome you back to the Y!

CROSSROADS YMCA UPDATE FOR THURSDAY, AUGUST 13

As our community continues to recover from severe storms, power outages, and storm damage, our YMCA will remain closed Thursday morning, August 13.

We know this has been a challenging time for many of our members, staff, and neighbors, and we appreciate your continued patience and understanding as restoration efforts continue.

We will share another update at Noon on Thursday, August 13 regarding YMCA operations for the remainder of the day.

Thank you to the crews and community members working tirelessly to help Northwest Indiana recover. Please continue to stay safe and take care of one another.

CROSSROADS YMCA MIDDAY UPDATE: WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 12

We know the last 24 hours have been difficult for many across our community as families and neighbors continue to deal with power outages and damage from severe storms.

As power restoration and storm damage clean-up efforts continue, our YMCA will remain closed for the rest of Wednesday, August 12.

We’re grateful for the crews and community members working hard to help Northwest Indiana recover. Most importantly, we hope you and your loved ones are safe.

Thank you for your patience, understanding, and for taking care of one another. We’ll continue to share updates on Facebook and our app as they become available. We expect to share an update this evening by 7:00pm regarding Thursday, August 13.

⚠️ COMMUNITY UPDATE FOR WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 12 ⚠️

Due to local power outages impacting our community, the YMCA will not open Wednesday morning, August 12, at our regularly scheduled time.

We will continue to monitor power restoration and conditions throughout this evening and tomorrow morning. We will provide our next update at Noon on Wednesday, August 12, with information regarding possible reopening and branch operations. Please check our page and app for the latest information before heading to the Y.

🎉 What a wonderful day we had for our Back to School Bash! 🎉

Rain or shine 🌦️, our community came together and made this event a huge success! We had an amazing turnout and loved seeing so many smiling faces throughout the day.

Families enjoyed visiting the fire trucks 🚒 and ambulance 🚑, getting their faces painted 🎨, playing games, and, of course, enjoying all the delicious food. The laughter, excitement, and community spirit made this a day to remember! ❤️

And the best part? Every child went home with a backpack 🎒 filled with school supplies to help them start the new school year off right. Seeing their excitement and smiles reminded us exactly why this event is so special.
