A proud Shelby High School graduate and lifelong supporter of the community, Megan brings more than 24 years of experience in educational sales along with a deep passion for education, community development, and creating opportunities for future generations.

After spending more than 27 years in Columbus, Megan and her family returned home to Shelby in 2025 — bringing with them a continued commitment to the community that helped shape her.

“We are excited to welcome her voice and perspective to the board,” said Executive Director Carrie Kemerer.

Megan’s strong community roots, relationship-focused leadership, and professional experience will help support the Foundation’s mission of connecting generosity with community need.

We’re proud to introduce another new scholarship opportunity through The Shelby Foundation ❤️

The Fitzpatrick Miami University Scholarship was established by Shelby High School graduate Kevin Fitzpatrick to celebrate his connection to both Shelby High School and Miami University while investing in the next generation of students.

This annual scholarship supports Shelby seniors planning to attend Miami University who have demonstrated involvement beyond the classroom through activities such as school organizations, athletics, church, community service, and employment — while also demonstrating financial need.

Introducing a new scholarship opportunity through The Shelby Foundation ❤️

The Gary Cole Memorial Scholarship was established to honor the legacy of Gary Cole — a lifelong educator, public servant, and passionate advocate for science education. During his 33 years of teaching, including many years at Shelby High School, Gary inspired generations of students to approach the world with curiosity, enthusiasm, and a love of learning.

This scholarship will award $1,000 annually — renewable for up to four years — to a student pursuing a science-related major.

We are proud to share that the inaugural $4,000 scholarship has been awarded to Sharon Frost.

Through scholarships like this, donor legacies continue creating opportunities for future generations and investing in the bright futures of Shelby students.

Today, we had the privilege of celebrating the Class of 2026 and the incredible students who were awarded scholarships through funds housed at The Shelby Foundation. 🎓

This year, $95,500 was awarded to Shelby graduates through 30 scholarship funds — supporting 22 students and helping invest in their next chapter.

Every scholarship represents a legacy of generosity and a belief in the power of future generations. We are grateful to the donors, families, and community members who continue to make these opportunities possible.

Congratulations to all of this year’s recipients. We can’t wait to see where your journeys lead. ❤

The Shelby Foundation Board of Directors recently approved over $82,000 in Cycle 1 grant funding to support local programs and projects serving Shelby and the surrounding community.

In addition, donor-advised fund grants were approved to support Shelby Band uniforms, the Butler Clear Fork Adult Center - Meals on Wheels Program, and the Richland County Dog Warden's Office & Shelter.
