Our October FFA meeting is in the books!

Our chapter celebrated many things at our meeting tonight, including the upcoming Halloween festivities. Our officer team dressed as their officer position during the meeting. Students discussed upcoming contests, service opportunities, and planning for winter activities.

Afterwards, we headed to J&J Rietschlin Farm for their corn maze and fall treats like caramel apples and s’mores. We would like to thank the Farm for hosting our activity and encourage everyone to check out their haunted maze the “Field of Screams”.

Thirty FFA members rolled out of bed extra early this morning to load onto a school bus to head to the 2026 All-American Quarter Horse Congress in Columbus.

Students got a chance to see some of the top performing horses in the country in trail, futurity and driving classes this morning. They also explored the expo and shopping place while seeing the show. We also encountered several FFA Chapters from across the country as they are preparing to compete in the judging competition tomorrow.

We are so proud of Kayne, Grady, and Sam! Competing at a high level in a state qualifying career development event is a challenge. The skills and knowledge they learned throughout this contest, will benefit them in their lives as they move into being productive members of our agricultural society.

Yesterday, our Ag Soils CDE team traveled to Frankfort, Ohio to compete in the state soils competition. Do you know where that is? Go to Chillicothe and turn left!

There were lots of hours in the school van, but we wish them best of luck as we await results online.

Don’t forget, what a perfect day for some Friday night football! Come out and celebrate a successful year with the Shelby FFA Alumni and supporters at their tailgate party prior to the game.

Our parking lot will be open starting at 5 PM so you can catch a great parking spot, have a great dinner, and cheer on the Whippets tonight.

It’s time to stock up on delicious, farm-fresh citrus, apples, pears, and seasonal gift baskets! Our annual FFA Fruit Sale is officially open, and every single order directly empowers our local FFA members.

Why buy from us?
Our FFA chapter participates in over 200 yearly events ranging from projects at the Richland County Fair, to collecting donations for our community support groups, to traveling hundreds of miles each year to teach students about agriculture across the country.
Our chapter consists of nearly 300 students in grades 6-12 at Shelby and it is a big undertaking to do anything with the large number of students involved

Our fruit is picked fresh from growers, loaded onto trucks and shipped directly to us. Meaning it is as fresh as it gets. There’s nothing better than fresh fruit in the early parts of winter or around the holiday table.

Your annual support is how we continue to do evey activity and provide learning opportunities for our students.
