OK, all you Rust Belt rebellion fans. Let's reminisce a bit. Why do we keep coming back to the RBR? Well, how about the very cool car show? Or perhaps the just as cool part that is the Bike show. Where everyone is a judge on who wins one of the RBR cool trophies.Or perhaps its not every day you get ribs cooked in front of you that taste so good. Or maybe the grilled watermelon. Oh, ya, or is it so you can bid on one of the many" who knows what this year" silent auction items? But wait, we forgot about the hot wheels. We can't forget how we could race " our " race car and win money along with trash-talking your Grandpa. That was always a crowd favorite. Then came the very cool hot wheels demo derby. That was people 8 deep all the way around yelling and carrying on about the near misses on the track. Ya, that was always very fun. And then we cannot forget the vehicle raffle. We had given away 10 vehicles over the years. One year, a Dad won one of our trucks in the raffle. He gave it to his son as his first-ever vehicle. He drove back and forth to high school. Then, when he graduated, and sold it. When he was 19, he came back and gave the home a very large donation from the sale of that truck. That was great, Kurtis. You are a great man. Or did some come by on those days? Because they had some close friends . That would get together and have fun. At the end of the day. Everyone threw in a few bucks for the Vets Home cause. Then after months of this . Bring us a very large donation . Again, Thanks Danny, you are a super guy. The last cool thing we all liked was the wrestling. That was just a great end of the day. Nothing like watching an 8-year-old girl slap a dazed wrestler as he stumbles by her. Because she knows he is a bad guy. So always at the end of the day. We all had a great, great time. Helping out some great people who are daily helping out some other people that deserve it the most, Homeless Veterans. In the last 9 or so years, not counting the Covid year. We averaged over 500 attendees per year. That is so cool. Well, ya came, you seen. You raced. You judged. You ate, and mostly you had a blast at the Rust Belt Rebellion. We all did. You may have left a little lighter in your purse or wallet. But the kids were dirty and tired. And asking about next year. Ya had fun and ya felt good about helping the Homeless Veterans. However, all good things must end. And this to is happening. We will not be able to put on the Rust Belt Rebellion fundraiser any longer. It saddens us terribly. It's just a matter of not having the help it takes to do what it takes. We can not thank all of you who have come and helped us . Help them. Damn, we had a great time for 11 years. And to the best of our figuring. All of you helped us to donate almost $140,000 to that home over a decade, and we did this for them and them alone. So as sad as this is. We, the Rust Belt Riders, are now gone as a car club. And the Rebellion is just a memory. And thank you very much for helping us have one of the best feel-good days of our lives for a few years. And please, please never forget the "Veterans Life Changing Services " Veterans home will always need help. And donations help in the most ways. Thanks again. We love ya all. We will miss ya all. Goodbye. RBR's
