Shelby Lions Football and Cheer Club

Shelby Lions Football and Cheer Club SHELBY LIONS Football & Cheer Club (SLFC) is a part of the OMYFA. In 1998, the Club played its first season in the Oakland-Macomb Youth Football League (OMYFA).

We strive to help young people develop physically, socially and academically through the sports of cheer and football! As a member of the Shelby Lions Football Club (SLFC), you are a part of a proud tradition of competition, participation and good sportsmanship which has endured since 1980. In the beginning, the SLFC, as a part of the Eastern Suburban Football League, played at the Pontiac Silverd

ome. The Freshman squad went on to win the first Superbowl. In the following years of growth the games were played at Mae Stecker Park and Whispering Woods. In 2002, the field of dreams (Home Field) became a reality. This could not have been accomplished without a tremendous amount of support, time, talent and financial resources from the Shelby Township P, R & M Department, the Shelby Township Board and the many hardworking volunteers and members of the SLFC. Our season rosters hold an average of 200 boys and girls in flag and tackle football squads as well as cheerleading squads. Many of participants have gone on and participated in their junior and senior high school programs. Volunteering is the backbone of the Shelby Lions, without the support and efforts of its members there would be no Shelby Lions. The Shelby Lions are a family, whose every member does their part to keep the Shelby Lions the quality football club that it is today.
