Seven years ago, when I met Ms. Theresa Toia and learned about the mission of Friends of Foster Kids it changed my life. She inspires me. Her dedication and compassion—making sure every child is seen and celebrated—has had such a deep impact on me.
Her encouragement has taught me that age doesn't matter and that students truly can make a difference.

This photo means a lot to me.

Mia, a 9th grader, learned about Bag of Joy and offered to help me fulfill one of the wishlists we had taken on from Friends of Foster Kids. This wishlist is for Devotion a 3 yo girl, who wants a learning toy, a baby doll, and a kitchen playset.

Seeing students support students is the best feeling. Grateful for Mia, her kindness, and everyone who has helped me fulfill the wishlists Bag of Joy committed to for Christmas 2025.

Every child deserves a moment of joy, and that’s what Bag of Joy is all about. Right now, we’re helping kids in foster care in our local area have a better holiday season by adopting their wishlists.

I’m really excited that people are using the Bag of Joy platform because it’s actually so simple. You just click on a wishlist, and it takes you straight to Amazon where you can fulfill it. It’s been so cool to see people from Texas, Florida, Illinois, and South Carolina helping kids right here in Michigan.

My outreach for the Holiday Season of 2021 - I worked on recycling cans to collect money. I was able to donate journals, board games, cool pens, card games to the Friends of Foster Kids
