🌟 May Staff Appreciation: Honoring Our Superheroes — Our Fearless Teachers! 🌟

This month, we are suiting up and shining the spotlight on the true superheroes of Roberts Elementary — our incredible homeroom teachers! 💪🎉 These everyday heroes don’t wear capes (okay, maybe on spirit days), but they are fearless, dedicated, and make a powerful impact in our students' lives every single day.

From tying shoelaces and wiping tears to solving math mysteries and sparking a love of reading, these teachers do it ALL — with heart, humor, and a whole lot of patience! ❤️📚✏️

At Roberts Elementary, we are beyond lucky to have this Justice League of educators leading the way:

✨ Kindergarten:
Ms. Debeaussaert, Ms. Shaffer, and Mrs. Hellebuyck — the dream team turning tiny learners into confident readers, writers, and friends!

✨ First Grade:
Mrs. Larente, Mrs. Lacrosse, and Ms. Tocco — where the magic of big kid learning really takes flight! 🚀

✨ Second Grade:
Mrs. Medley, Mrs. Adams, and Ms. Guenther — guiding curious minds and building strong foundations with every lesson!

✨ Third Grade:
Mrs. Pisha, Ms. Modrzejewski, Ms. Catalano, and Mrs. Jones — challenging students to think deeper and dream bigger! 💭✨

✨ Fourth Grade:
Mrs. Selden-Bann, Mrs. Hawkins, and Ms. Ryder — growing independence and nurturing new leaders every day!

✨ Fifth Grade:
Mrs. Wolney, Mr. Palmer, and Ms. Vervaecke — inspiring courage and confidence as students prepare for that big 6th-grade leap! 🦸‍♂️🦸‍♀️

✨ Sixth Grade:
Mr. Roraff, Mrs. Jackson, and Mrs. Whalen — our fearless captains guiding students through their final elementary adventure and beyond! 🎓💫

Let’s make sure our teachers feel extra loved this month! When you see them — whether it's at drop-off, pick-up, or passing by in the halls — give them a big high-five, a heartfelt THANK YOU, or even a superhero pose in their honor (yes, really — they’ve earned it!). 🫶💥

This month, we are shining the spotlight on a group of educators who bring creativity, movement, and a love of learning into our students’ lives—our phenomenal Specials Teachers! 🎶🎨📚🏃‍♀️

At Roberts Elementary, we are lucky to have an all-star team that makes every school day more vibrant and engaging:
✨ Mr. Gress - Music: Bringing the beat, the rhythm, and the melodies that make our hearts sing!
✨ Ms. Pope - Art: Inspiring young artists to paint, draw, and create their wildest imaginations!

🌟 March Staff Appreciation: Honoring Our Support Staff! 🌟

This month, we are celebrating a truly special group of individuals who make a lasting impact on our students every day—our incredible Support Staff! 💙

At Roberts Elementary, we are fortunate to have an amazing team dedicated to helping students learn, grow, and feel supported. From providing guidance and resources to ensuring every child has the tools they need to succeed, these staff members make a difference in ways both big and small.

Let’s give a huge shoutout to:
✨ Our Social Worker - Mrs. Borowitz, who provides support, encouragement, and a safe space for students in need
✨ Our Newcomer Teachers - Ms. Vargas, Mrs Davidson, Mrs Yousif, Mrs. Karam, Mrs. Dattolo, and Mrs Jarzyna, who help non-English speaking students thrive
✨ Our Paraprofessionals- Mrs Osborne, Mrs Gorgees, Mrs. Jamil, Mrs Vorfaj, and Mrs Chateau , who provide extra support and care in the classroom
✨ Our Speech Teacher- Mrs Tear-Shelton, who helps students find their voice
✨ Our Math Coach - Mrs. Bigelow, who makes numbers make sense
✨ Our Literacy Coach- Mrs Kammerer, who fosters a love for reading and learning
✨ Our Learning Center Teachers,- Mrs. Sherman and Mrs. Parsons who provide specialized support for students who need it.

These dedicated individuals work behind the scenes and alongside our students every day, offering encouragement, guidance, and invaluable support. Let’s make sure they feel seen, valued, and appreciated all month long!

🌟 February Staff Appreciation: Honoring Our Custodians! 🌟
This month, we are shining a spotlight on three incredible individuals who work tirelessly to keep our school clean and safe —our custodians! Let's show our appreciation for Mr. Jim, Mr. Mustafa, and Mrs. Mustafa all month long!

Our custodians go above and beyond every day, making sure our hallways sparkle, our classrooms stay tidy, and our school remains a welcoming space for students and staff. Their hard work often happens behind the scenes, but their impact is felt by everyone who walks through our doors.

Join us in celebrating them! We are asking our students and staff to take a moment to say thank you, give them a high-five, or write a quick note of appreciation. A little kindness can go a long way in making them feel valued for all they do!

The PTO has a little surprise for them this month as well.

We would like to extend our gratitude to the Shelby Township Police Department and Shelby Township Fire Department for bringing their vehicles to our Spring Carnival event. We would like to thank Rosco The Clown for providing our children with balloon animals and entertaining jokes during our Spring Carnival. The children absolutely adored him, and he graciously stayed at our event until the last child received their balloon.
