Welcome to our page!

We are Masks4Missions—a youth-led Vermont-based social enterprise initiative founded in August 2020 by Douglas Altshuler, a recent high school graduate. In collaboration with local nonprofits, we design, manufacture, and distribute COVID masks bearing the branding of our nonprofit partners to protect and connect for safer lives and stronger communities. Within weeks of our founding, we advocated for and organized the first statewide mask celebration, Vermont Mask Day on October 6 2020, in partnership with the Office of Governor Phil Scott. Since Vermont Mask Day, which featured over 40 nonprofits and distributed over 30,000 masks to Vermonters, we’ve gone on to partner with nearly 100 nonprofits and distribute over 100,000 masks across all 50 states.

About Masks4Missions

Welcome to Masks4Missions! We partner with Vermont nonprofits to design, make, distribute, and sell subsidized COVID-19 masks.

COVID-19 threatens not only Vermonter’s health but also our connections to each other and our community. We hope to make masks that save Vermonter's lives and support our state's amazing nonprofits.

Driven by a mission of togetherness, Mask4Missions was founded by youth activist Doug Altshuler in collaboration with citizen leaders of Vermont. Masks4Missions envisions a world where wearing a Masks4Missions mask is understood to reflect a personal commitment to our (community) health and support of the nonprofits that make our community stronger.

Masks4Missions is also the proud organizer of the inaugural Vermont Mask Day, a one-day, state-wide celebration of Vermonters coming together virtually and in mask-protected socially-distant gatherings to celebrate our shared commitment to healthy communities by wearing COVID-19 masks branded with custom Vermont Mask Day designs and Vermont nonprofit images.
