Mobile Missions Network Missouri

Mobile Missions Network Missouri Our aim is to equip ordinary people to take the church to people.

Our aim is to be a bridge to the church through going to places where there is not a Gospel presence and planting community centers and churches in those communities.

Are you using your armor? Join us for a new Bible memorization challenge for individuals and families as we dive into the Armor of God.

The Bible never promised us that life on earth would be easy. In fact, it tells us to expect trials and hardship. BUT God also equips His people with tools through the Holy Spirit to help get us through difficult and scary times. One of those tools is the Armor of God.

This Armor isn’t physical armor we need to put on each day, but spiritual armor to help us stand firm against the schemes of the devil. If you are a Christian, you have this armor, but you might not always remember it.

This challenge is to help us remember to use our armor daily.

Are you worried about a new school year? You have armor for that.

Facing a trial and don’t see a way out? You have armor for that.

Scared by what is going on in the world? You have armor for that.

Would you like to join us in memorizing the Armor of God found in the Bible?

To complete the challenge:

-Each person participating would memorize all the verses of the passage about The Armor of God found in Galatians 6:10-20 by the deadline of October 15. OR memorize the names of each piece of armor from the passage (whichever works best for the ages and abilities of your family members).

Here is a link to a song that kids might like to help them remember the armor. https://youtu.be/Q5sconbko84?si=tjEuyg_ZyBs3r5NX

-You can pick the Bible translation of your choice to memorize the passage with.

-Look up and discuss as a family the purposes of each piece of physical armor and how the spiritual armor can help us in our daily lives.

-Please send a PM to let me know you are joining the challenge, so we know how many people or families are joining.

-Let me know by October 15 that you have memorized the passage. We’ll just use the honor system unless you want to come over and recite it in person. 😁

For the past month we’ve been working on memorizing Psalm 23. We set this challenge for our family, but wanted to open it up for other families too, and several joined in! It was so awesome to learn together and dig into God’s word with other families. Here are some interesting things we learned from our research and from the other participants:

Did you know sheep have rectangular pupils, so they can see a lot all at once?

Also, some sheep in desert locations can store water in their tails (like a camel stores water). They are called fat tail sheep.

Sheep are really smart, BUT they also blindly follow the lead sheep which can cause them all to get lost or get into trouble. That’s why they need a good shepherd to lead them.

Jesus is our Good Shepherd, and we are the sheep who need guidance so we don’t wander off or get into trouble.

Many parents talked about how awesome and touching it was to see their children working hard to memorize and understand God’s word. They saw their kids take initiative and make connections between the Bible, stories from Sunday School, and their everyday life.

As adults, we found it harder to memorize the whole chapter than we thought it would be. I know I thought six verses would be easy, but it really was a good challenge! We are glad we were able to memorize this passage so it will be easier to recall on days we need it most.

This year, we haven’t been able to do the things through Mobile Missions Network that we normally do each summer, but it was fun to try a different way to outreach to families, and we are thankful God gives us new ideas for different seasons in our lives.

We are planning another Bible memorization challenge coming up soon. Stay posted if you’d like to join!

We had the best day with these awesome kids for Mom’s Day Off. We got to play, talk about Jesus, make nativity scenes out of toys, do crafts, eat yummy food, and play some more. Some days just fill your heart up, and today was one of those. We are so thankful for Clarence Faith Family in Christ Church for hosting us, and the rock star team they always bring!
