The Southern Berkshire Public Health Collaborative (SBPHC) is offering updated Flu and COVID-19 vaccinations. There will be two clinics in Sheffield:

- Friday, September 25th, from 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. at the Sheffield Senior Center,
-Tuesday, October 13th, from 3:00 p.m.-6:00 p.m. in the Mt Everett Regional High School Cafeteria.

There will also be a clinic in New Marlborough at the Fire Station on Friday, October 16th, from 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m.

We have two volunteer needs for next week-

Thursday, August 27th at 11am: South County Food Box Deliveries

We need 2-3 volunteers who can help with home deliveries on Thursdays. Boxes are picked up at Old Parish Church in Sheffield.

Friday, August 28th at 8am: 190 North Plain Road to Christian Assembly and Holding and Helping Hands in Pittsfield

We need a volunteer to pick up produce, eggs and cheese to the sites listed above. Volunteer must be able to lift 50 pounds. The Berkshire Bounty Toyota Sienna van is available for this route.

One of our partners in the Cooper Hill Conservation Alliance, and the land is directly across the Housatonic River from the Connecticut portion of the Cooper Hill Conservation Project. Congratulations to NCLC and the whole community!

NCLC is pleased to announce that we are a major step closer to protecting a 1-mile stretch of the Housatonic River and adjacent forest. A $1.5M grant award from the Connecticut Department of Energy & Environmental Protection’s (CT DEEP) Open Space and Watershed Land Acquisition (OSWA) Grant Program has been awarded to support the acquisition and permanent protection of a 245-acre property in North Canaan, Connecticut.

The property is the largest contiguous tract of unfragmented riverine and interior forest habitat on the east side of the Housatonic River between the Massachusetts border and Connecticut’s Great Falls, and will create new opportunities for outdoor recreation and access to nature in North Canaan.
