Norfolk Southern Railroad will be doing work on the surroundings train tracks this week. This will cause the affected crossings to be closed for a minimum of one day. They will have temporary traffic control in place. They will be working on the train tracks on Douglas St and Atlanta Ave in Sheffield at some point in the next week. We do not have a definite day they will start but as soon as we hear any date we will be sure to update our post.

Be aware this could affect school and work traffic.

🚛 Garbage pick up:

❄️We will pick up Thursday and Friday's garbage on Friday, January 2nd.

❗️Please make sure your garbage cans are turned the correct way (hinge side facing away from the street)❗️

❄️Debris crews will be running ahead all week and doing everything they can to pick up debris. Friday they will pick up where they left off..

🚛 Garbage pick up:
Monday, December 22nd- Will run as normal
Tuesday, December 23rd- Will run Tuesday and Wednesday routes.
Wednesday, December 24th- OFF
Thursday, December 25th- OFF
Friday, December 26th- Will run Thursday and Fridays route.

🚛 Debris Pick-Up:
Crews will be running ahead and doing everything they can to pick up debris by Tuesday, December 23rd. They will resume pick-up Friday, December 26th, where they left off.

🌟 Debris trailers will be placed around the city to help with the surplus of Christmas trash.

‼️ Please do not place household trash in the debris trailers. This causes issues at the landfill and slows down our regular pick-up efforts. ‼️

We will be closed Tuesday November 11th, in observance of Veterans Day.

Garbage pick up for Monday (November 10) and Tuesday (November 11) will be picked up on MONDAY (November 10th). The rest of the week will be ran as normal.

🦟MOSQUITO SPRAYING🦟

Tonight 9/24 hoping to get the following neighborhoods:
Rivermont
Village
Southside
Westside
Riverbluff

Tomorrow night 9/25 we will finish spraying the rest of Sheffield.

We are going to start informing our residents when the mosquito truck will be running here on Facebook!

Our driver sprays twice a week.
It is not always on the same days, it depends on the weather and schedules.

The railroad union has recently informed us they will be closing the railroad crossing on Avalon for repairs starting Thursday January 30th through Thursday February 6th. Please be prepared for traffic and find alternate routes for that week.
