Willow Creek Preserve (and all GLC Preserves) are private land trust properties, not public parks, and do not provide garbage cans for dog waste.

If you bring a dog to the preserve, you must:

Keep dogs on a leash at all times.

Pick up after your dog and take all waste home (do not leave bags on the property).

Please follow these rules. If compliance does not improve, we will be forced to prohibit dogs from the preserve entirely. Thank you for helping us protect Willow Creek Preserve and all our Preserves

There is no vendor fee and our market is filling up with one-of-a-kind vendors, warm community energy, and the kind of charm you can't mass produce! Today marked the last day of our 2026 Water Action Volunteers (WAV) monitoring season at Willow Creek Preserve in Sheboygan.

In May and October, volunteers complete a biotic index in addition to the usual WAV protocols. Findings today ranged from snails and scuds, all the way to encased caddisflies. The best finds were salmon eggs and a long-nosed dace!

We want to thank each of our WAV volunteers for their hard work this summer! One Saturday a month from May through October, volunteers woke up early and ready to get in the water at 8 AM! The data collected is very valuable, as it allows us to track trends in water quality and baseline data, and can better inform management decisions at Willow Creek Preserve.

Most of the tree cages at Willow Creek Preserve in Sheboygan have room to breathe after this morning!☀️💨

A small but mighty crew of volunteers and staff worked hard to clear grass and brush from inside and around our tree cages on the south side of the property. Most of the plants in these tree cages were planted in Fall 2025 and Spring 2026. Overcrowded trees and shrubs can lead to more competition for resources such as sunlight and water. By clearing the area around them, this gives an opportunity for these young and vulnerable plants to flourish.

This was also a great opportunity to evaluate the success of the plantings. We are pleased to to report that nearly 100% of all the plants in the tree
cages are thriving!
