Mecca's Pit Bull Rescue-Rehabilitation & Training We are a foster-based rescue in Sheboygan, WI. This rescue was founded by Mecca in 2010 and continues to save lives one by one.

Mecca's Pit Bull Rescue is a nonprofit 501 (c) (3) organization founded in 2010 we, rescue, advocate, train, socialize, exercise and educate the public about dogs labeled Pit Bull. The dogs that come into the rescue receive training, a safe place to enjoy life until a new home is found. Mecca is a certified dog trainer and works with each dog individually. The dogs learn the basic skills of "sit"

"down" "come" and "stay" the longer a dog is in rescue the more they learn. Not only do the dogs learn the basics but they also receive rehabilitation when needed. Mecca uses force-free techniques to help the dogs. She continues her education through learning, webinars and attending events. She is also a certified dog bite prevention educator and helps families to better understand a dog's body language. You will hear her often say 100% supervision between all interactions with children and dogs. Mecca is a positive reinforcement dog trainer and uses food or toys for training. The dogs that come into this rescue are either owner surrender or animal control.

Tossing 5 ice 🧊 cubes into the water bowl. 💧 She could have used her paw, but she taught herself to hold her breathe to get each one.

Some dogs are trained to hold their breathe for search & rescue in water.

Rescues and shelters are full.

I'm always going to recommend first scheduling on online consultation with me. Training and Behavior Modification should always be the first step to saving a dog.

Dogs are a lifetime commitment. Dogs are learning 24/7/365 days a year. We bring a different species into our homes. Dogs have needs to be met. Exercise, enrichment and mind stimulation.

Dogs also need good sleep, just like us humans.

When scheduling for an online consultation, please allow 24 hours for set up. I'm not always sitting on a computer.

No cats because he will chase. Dog to dog greeting is recommended. He plays well with dogs he has been properly introduced to.

He's intelligent and houstrained. Crate trained also.

Hello,
My name is Enzo and I did something last night 🌙 and apparently it brought tears to Mecca's eyes.

On April 8. 2024 Asia a dog this household loved passed away over that night. Asia was loved by all of us. She was really special. She was a sanctuary dog 🐕 she became a senior in rescue.

Asia slept in a crate near me. I mourned her death, I really liked her.

Just recently in the past 5 weeks, Mecca has been crate training the new girl, Georgia Peach 🍑 and I have made a friendship with her.

Mecca gave Georgia Peach 🍑 a bone filled with soft moist food. It came time for Georgia Peach 🍑 to go for some training with Mecca. It was getting dark out. Soon Mecca came to get me. I went to the crate where Georgia Peach 🍑left her bone.

Mecca was keeping an eye on me, because I took the bone outdoors with. Later I heard Mecca call my name, it was very late and time to go night 🌙 night as Mecca calls it.

This brought tears to her eyes. I picked up the bone, I took outdoors and put it back into the crate where I found it, then went back to my crate. She looked at me and she always counts out my 4 cookies.

Mecca says I'm a special kind of dog. I'm a mix but I'm unique.

That's my story for last night 🌙. I am looking for my forever home in Wisconsin. Yeah! I'm a cheesehead dog 🐕

Mecca’s Pit Bull Rescue

Mecca’s Pit Bull Rescue is moving forward. If you join like this page please share and be active in helping this effort. There are too many dogs being euthanized because their time is running out. My husband and I believe the dogs deserve that chance to live and find a good home. We are the voice for the voiceless.

The rescue has saved forty two dogs since 2010. We are a non profit organization 501 (c) 3 EIN 27-4528168

This rescue is foster based and it relies on people’s donations to help the dogs. We now have a Certified Dog Trainer available to help dogs become better dogs. We believe each of them deserved the opportunity to learn new behaviors. We have seen dogs progress and get into good homes.

This rescue requires everyone to fill out an application. Each applicant who is accepted will have a background check and a home check. You may be asked for a Photo Identification and references. Let it be known that I do ask on occasion how is the dog doing? I really do appreciate those who let me know how the dog is doing. A simple visit or an updated picture lets me know everything is going good. A lot of time and effort is put into each dog and I do build connections with them.
