And the other WDC invited guest, Megan Schimke! We are thrilled to welcome Schimke to the Mini-Dance Festival stage. Don't miss Megan, along with the 11 other artists this Saturday at our WDC annual conference. It will not be just another conference...it will be our 60th! So excited, see you at MYarts on Saturday!

Megan Schimke is a choreographer, dancer, and teacher based in Madison, WI. Megan is a graduate of Interlochen Arts Academy and earned a BFA in Dance from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Megan has been recognized for her work in choreography with the Buff Brennan Senior Honors Award from UW-Madison, the Monticello Award from Regional Dance America-Midstates for her work, “A Ghost’s Paradise”, and was in the first cohort of the Wisconsin Dance Council’s Emerging Artists in 2025. Outside of creating choreography, she continues to perform freelance with groups such as Liz Sexe Dance, Kate Corby & Dancers, and unincorporated dance lab. Megan is an instructor for all ages and has taught multiple residencies in public elementary schools teaching basic ballet curriculum to grades K-2 through the non-profit, Dance Wisconsin.

Meet Libby...
Libby Donovan is a Junior at Carthage College pursuing an Allied Health Science major and Dance minor. Libby is from Rockton, IL, and has dedicated 14 years of her life to dance, 10 of those years dancing competitively and 2 years performing at Carthage College. Libby would like to thank her family for their endless support and encouragement, and for never ceasing to believe in her. She would also like to thank Stacy Pottinger for encouraging her to step out of her comfort zone. And, finally, she’d like to thank her fellow members of Carthage’s dance program for being so welcoming and inspiring, helping her fall back in love with dance once more

Announcing! A very special appearance for the Mini-Dance Festival. Joining the stage is a special guest, Lia Smith-Redmann. Lia was one of our four 2025-2026 Emerging Artist awardees and we couldn't be more excited to have her join us on Saturday for the Mini-Dance Festival.

Meet Lia!
Lia Smith-Redmann is a Wisconsin-based dancer, choreographer, and writer. She studied dance and experimental theatre throughout the Five College Consortium in Massachusetts and graduated with her Bachelors in Dance and English from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. She is a collaborating artist with Hyperlocal MKE and the Gina Laurenzi Dance Project, and founder of the Barn Loft Studio & Residency in Door County, where she serves as the Production Manager & Marketing Coordinator at the Door County Auditorium. She is a Guest Choreographer for Fable Dance Company and an awardee of the Wisconsin Dance Council’s prestigious Emerging Artist Mentorship Program, and for her academic and artistic merit she was a two-time university dance research fellow and a recipient of the Slovenian Arts Award. Her work has been performed at the St. Louis Contemporary Dance Festival, West Michigan Dance Festival, Dance City Festival, Still Inspired Future Artists, American College Dance Association, MADCO’s Dare to Dance, CineVox Dance Film Festival, Hampshire College, UW-Milwaukee, and Danceworks MKE Get It Out There, among others. This fall, her 501(c)3 nonprofit dance company will debut their inaugural performance, The Firekeeper, on October 17th. Find show and ticket information at .danceco (Instagram).
