Wheel chair ramps are just one of the many things we have the ability to do so that our neighbors can safely age in place. We are grateful for the volunteers who made this possible.

A recent piece in The New York Timesโ€™ Wirecutter by Dan Koeppel highlights something we see every day at Rebuilding Together: growing older at home requires safe housing and social connection. At Rebuilding Together Sheboygan County, it brings our team great joy when we can help a senior age in place knowing our repairs have helped to make his or her home warm, safe, and dry.

Across the country, older adults are doing everything right โ€” owning their homes, budgeting carefully โ€” yet still facing barriers that threaten their independence. Your support means we can help more seniors age in place. Visit rtsheboygan.org to learn more about our work and make a contribution. Remember, we are an all-volunteer nonprofit so your contribution will be used to maximum community benefit.

Aging happily at home takes more than money. Five resilient older adults share how community and knowing when to ask for help are just as important as finances.

On Saturday, November 1st, our Board of Directors rolled up their sleeves for the 3rd year in a rowโ€”completing free home repairs for a Sheboygan family. From handrails and grab bars to smoke/CO detectors and gutter guards, we worked together to make their home safer.

This annual tradition lets our board learn new skills, connect with homeowners, and celebrate our mission: keeping Sheboygan County homeowners warm, safe, and dry.
