Hi Kim here…. I made a big mistake today and I want to publically apologize to the woman who came in today and I asked if she wanted these items to destroy. I realized after asking that it was insensitive and before I could apologize she was gone.

We on occasion get items of times past when let’s just face it racism was sold as cute or funny. It was wrong and we won’t intentionally put things like this out to sell but if any of our Black friends want it to do whatever you wish with … we would gladly hand it over for free… just ask. Some may argue this part of history is important to remember so we can do better but we don’t feel right about having it so if you are thinking of donating anything like this please don’t.

We will make mistakes like today but we hope to always do better tomorrow.

There is no need for anyone to tell us they disagree with our decision or the way we operate. If you disagree and refuse to understand that we do not want to sell these things that is fine but it won’t change a thing on our end. If that makes you so upset that you can’t support us that’s ok and that’s your choice. We will still be here fulfilling our mission and fighting for a better world for everyone.
