COURTESY POST

Still looking for a family. She was just at the vet and got a clean bill of health. Contact us if interested and we will put you in contact with the owner.

Hey Everyone We are asking that you share this post and contact us via private message if you or anyone you know is interested. Again this is a courtesy post we do not have the dog in our possession.
The owner is a wonderful supporter of our rescue. PITTSBURGH, PA AREA.
This is Hazel. She MUST be an only dog. She is beagle/terrier mix and is around 9ish. She unfortunately is not getting along with the other dog AND we think it best that she be an only dog. She is spayed, healthy, and up to date on shots. She is 34 lbs. Crate trained. Would be great with an older person that already doesnt have a dog.
If interested please private message the rescue and we will get you in contact with the owner.

🥰Thank You For Caring🥰

Good Morning. Oliver James here

I am trying to nap .....its cold outside and its May. What the heck is that? It snowed here last week. I am to delicate to be outside when its cold. I mean really I can't let anything compromise my devilish good looks. 😬 I have been trying to keep the girls in line because, you know, I am in charge here. Those girls 🙄 they tire me out. Well gotta go nap some more. Thanks for checking in! See ya soon !

Sincerely and with love,

Oliver James.

Update on the girls Noelle and Heidi:

Noelle's bloodwork is stable and her protein in her urine is good as well! No changes in n
her medication. Everything remains the same.

Heidi is a bit more complicated. She has a UTI AGAIN. We have had her on an antibiotic for what we believe is a bladder wall infection. But now we need to change the antibiotic. So we did that and the antibiotic made her sick and made her throw up. Sooooo we had to start her on Zofran to help combat the nausea. We just started that but so far so good. The antibiotic is expensive and of course now we have the addition of the Zofran. She will need a re check in a couple of weeks. We also noticed yesterday there is a movable lump on her back right leg. So we need to get that checked out. That is brand new. UGH. Its always something. We will keep you posted.

These two.......what can I say?
Oliver James and Noelle. For those who dont know about them here is their brief story:
Oliver James came to us in 2023 from KY after being hit by a car. A good Samaritan notified the wonderful Kentucky Kitty Kats rescue who stepped in to help. He had head trauma, a ruptured ear drum, and a broken right front leg. He was transferred to us and did see a surgeon at Blue Pearl in Pittsburgh for his fracture. By the time he got to us and Blue Pearl the fracture was healed. He had recovered from his head trauma and also his ruptured ear drum with no apparent residual effects. While here at the rescue he became attached to Noelle, who is completely blind, and they have bonded. Because of that we didn't want to separate them so he remains here with Noelle.

Noelle came to us from Louisville Metro in KY in 2019. She had been hit by a car and suffered head trauma and pelvic fractures. She has developed some very early kidney disease and sees a specialist every 3 months. She is on medication and special kidney food. Over the past 3 years she has gone completely blind due to Sudden Acquired Retinol Degeneration Syndrome. There is no cure and no cause is known. She has done well despite her deficit. She also has had several mammary tumors removed over the years that were positive for cancer. She will remain here because of her health conditions. She also suffers from some breathing issues caused by allergies and asthma type symptoms. She is on a low dose of daily prednisolone that controls those symptoms.

These are the types of dogs we take and most of our rescues stay with us because of their health issues. That makes us a unique rescue. We are small and always have HIGH vet bills. We rely on donations to pay the vet bills which can be significant depending on what's going on. All of the medications the dogs are on routinely are paid for out of my own pocket.

Good Morning Oliver James here.....

Well I got my nails trimmed at the vets. Those people are so nice to me and I get treats! Mom said I made a bunch of noise and she could hear me in the waiting room. 😬 I have no idea what she is talking about. The girls said I am a very handsome boy so that is all that matters. 😍

Just wanted to say hi and hope you all have a good day.

Sincerely and with love,

Oliver James.
