Say hello and welcome to "Waffles". Not a beagle but a little guineau pig we decided to take in. She is a little skittish right now but she is very young. We will make her feel welcome. Vivian, the guineau pig we have had for about 3 years, is trying to make her feel better. We have their cages side by side.

Just a quick update on the girls.

They both saw the Internist and all blodwork is normal and urine is stable right now for both girls!!!
One negative, Heidi was positive for erlichiosis. Not sure when that happened. She was negative when we brought her up from KY. Anyway, she is being treated with 30 days of doxy. She is doing fine with her neck issues as well! All in all a good report.

Hi! Oliver James here.
Just wanted to say Happy Sunday and I hope everyone is having a relaxing day because I sure am. My mom was mad because I tried to take a little taste of her chicken noodle soup.......I love that stuff. But she said "Oliver that is my soup." She did give me a taste when she was done. Yummy! These girls are driving me nuts. I know I am handsome and all but geez what's a boy to do? I am a rose between 2 thorns.
Well gotta go chase some birds after my nap. Talk to ya soon!

Hello Oliver James here.
My mom says that I am her baby boy. I know that's right!!!
She took me to the vet yesterday for a check up and a nail trim. All of the people there LOVE me. They told me how handsome I am and gave me peanut butter!!! I was the HIT of the night!! My mom told me I was bad though but I am telling you I was a good boy and all the ladies LOVED me. I guess i did get a little dramatic with my nail trim. But I dont like people touching my paws. But, I didnt make a sound when they drew my blood. Not a peep. They told me everything looked good. And I got kisses!!! Heidi was with me and she got 💋 kisses too but I know I am the favorite.
Well gotta go and get some beauty sleep because you know "I'm a lover not a fighter"

Hi Everyone

Just wanted to give a quick update on Noelle and Heidi. Both had checkups with the Internist (bloodwork and urine checks) and both had great reports! Noelle is stable with everything. Heidi's urinary infection has cleared. She also had an abdominal Ultrasound which was also a good report with everything looking normal including her bladder wall. 🥰 her antibiotics have been discontinued. We are still monitoring her neck and back and the disc situation but her pain meds have also been discontinued. Her vestibular bout has cleared and we will just monitor that as well. She does have some medication that has been ordered for her ears so we will keep an eye on that.

Both dogs are due for their annual shots.

They both will have another checkup in about 6 weeks.

Good Morning Everyone.

A quick update on Heidi.
She had a vestibular episode Wednesday morning at 5 AM. Rapid eye movement pretty bad, and a staggering gait. I have been through this with 3 other dogs in the past and it was classic vestibular symptoms. She has never had this before. By 7 AM most of the staggering had subsided but still rapid eye movement. She did eat breakfast and went outside to urinate. By the time I got home from work she was back to normal. I did call her Internist who said she felt it was an idiopathic episode of vestibular. Continue her meds and monitor her. We did get Meclizine if needed for the dizziness but so far we didnt need to give it.
She has an appointment on Friday with the Internist. We will get some bloodwork, check her urine again to make sure the infection has cleared, and shes scheduled for an abdominal ultrasound. She has been OK since so far.
Our financial.update at this time is we have been slowly paying down our Care Credit which is now down to $2500. That bill had been around $9000 for all of the emergencies we have had. Medications for Noelle and Heidi are all paid for out of my personal pocket. We use all the donations for emergencies, care credit bill, and Noelle and Heidi's check ups with the Internist and regular vet.

Good Morning. Oliver James here. Just wanted to say hello and see how everyone is doing.
Our mom said I need to have better manners. Really? I am a very handsome distinguished gentleman. I am not sure what shes talking about. She was mad because she had to pay the vet to cut my nails again. .......I mean those guys at the vets are soooo nice to me when I go there. They gave me peanut butter and belly rubs. 🤭😬😉😉 It is a beautiful thing.
She also said I need to stop chasing the squirrel up the tree. But I tell her he is annoying and teases me. He looks at me then runs up the tree and stares at me. I mean he must not realize that I am charge around here. The girls know I am in charge.

Well gotta run mom has to go to work and I need my beauty rest.

The owner is a wonderful supporter of our rescue. PITTSBURGH, PA AREA.
This is Hazel. She MUST be an only dog. She is beagle/terrier mix and is around 9ish. She unfortunately is not getting along with the other dog AND we think it best that she be an only dog. She is spayed, healthy, and up to date on shots. She is 34 lbs. Crate trained. Would be great with an older person that already doesnt have a dog.
