is a new program offered by Central Oklahoma Community Action Agency (COCAA) in Pottawatomie County. Volunteers Impacting People (VIP) engages persons 55 and older in volunteer service to meet community needs, and to provide a high quality experience that will enrich the lives of volunteers. These opportunities increase our communities' ability to grow and develop into a wonderful place to work a
nd live in. Although new to COCAA, VIP has been serving the Community for over 30 years under its previous funding name of 'Retired Seniors Volunteer Program (RSVP)’. All community programs previously managed by RSVP will continue with the same volunteers and staff and it will continue to be headquartered at The Shawnee Senior Center, 401 North Bell in Shawnee, Oklahoma. VIP and COCAA would like to thank the Corporation of National Community Services (CNCS) for the support and sponsorship that they have given to the RSVP program in Pottawatomie County during the last 30 years. It has allowed us the opportunity to build a great team of volunteers to serve our Pottawatomie County communities with our superb programs; a dedicated team that will continue to serve the community.
