Luke is collecting soccer gear for his final Lucy's Kids for Peace scholarship project. If you have anything to donate, you can stick on our porch or reach out and he'll gladly pick up from you. Oh what a night!! We were so happy to celebrate Jill being honored as a Peace Hero at the Kids for Peace 20th Anniversary Gala in San Diego this weekend! Because of Jill’s heart, vision, organization and passion (see video clip in comment) Jill was recognized as the longest-serving Kids for Peace chapter leader and a “dynamite” for our programs, such as the 2016 Peace Pledge Tour LKFP hosted in Kansas City (see throw-back photo poster that decorated the gala walls last night) and for creating our Peace Pro Scholarship Program. As we all know, Jill is tireless when it comes to LKFP’s (now) signature events (Thanksgiving Project, Bedtime Project, College Care Kits), but she’s always been tireless when it comes to her leadership-since 2012- in molding our kids (and entire families and communities) into intentional, action-oriented, creative and thoughtful peace-builders! Congratulations, Jill! “Let there be PEACE, yeah!!!”

Lucy's Kids for Peace will be doing our 5th annual College Care Kit project later this month. Many of us may remember how exciting it was to receive an unexpected package during that time of life! The packages will contain snacks, small toys/games, and a few other items to get these students through their last month of school and finals! They will be shipped to college students all across the country!
WHAT WE NEED:
1 - If you know a college student that we can send a package to, please sign them up! We are asking for a $12 donation per box to cover the shipping cost.

AND / OR

2 - If you are willing to contribute items for the boxes, you can choose an item off of our wish list. You may purchase items OR make a monetary contribution and we will shop for you!

Twas the day of bedtime project and all through KC

Adults and kids were excited to see

Games, toys and books, all wrapped with love

From each blanket, pillow, hat and glove!

The elves were in force, wrapping with joy

To bring Christmas love to each girl and boy.

One hundred and five kids felt loved by the community

The world was uplifted by the spirit of unity.

Each year we’re in awe

Of the endless fa-la-la

And all the kindness set loose

The Bedtime Project DJ/PJ party is today!! Hooray!! We estimate that more than 500 people engaged in kindness/love/caring to support the 105 kids who we get to party with and shower with Christmas spirit today! More to post after the party, but enjoy this video of the Wrapping Party this week. Thank you to the many elves, near and far, who helped us once again in this huge undertaking!!

Each year at our Bedtime Project event, we experience kids who are SO EXCITED for their brand new packages of socks and underwear. We love to see the joy on their faces, but we also wish they didn't have to be so exited for these basics that many of us take for granted. We are thrilled to report that the only things we still need to cover for this year's event (coming up this Sunday!) are 28 more $40 donations. A $40 donation covers new books, socks, underwear, and a dental hygiene kit for one child.

On this Giving Tuesday, please consider helping us fill up the remaining spots. You don't even need to take the step of signing up - you can simply venmo a $40 donation to and we'll get it applied to a child!
