The North Delaware River Watershed Conservancy

The North Delaware River Watershed Conservancy NorDel is the voice of Delaware River residents who have suffered from repeat flooding. Executive Director: Diane Tharpe

The North Delaware River Waterhsed Conservancy (NorDel) was formed in 2006 by Diane Tharp, a local science and math teacher, to study flooding on the Delaware River. Each of the 2004, 2005, and 2006 floods have had a direct adverse impact on 13,900 families living along the Delaware River. They have cost the federal government $213 million dollars in insurance claims and have had an immeasurable f

inancial impact on local governments and businesses in the basin. It is possible to mitigate flooding in the Delaware River Basin. NorDel works closely with various government representatives and stakeholders in order to restore the equitable apportionment of water in the Delaware River Basin.
