Our next scholarship recipient is Katie Goers! Katie graduated from Gresham High School and is joining her family’s dairy farm. Katie received one of our production scholarships that gives her the opportunity to buy supplies directly related to her role in agriculture. Congratulations, Katie!

Our next scholarship recipient is Lily Fischer. Lily graduated from Wittenberg- Birnamwood High School. This fall she is planning to attend the University of Wisconsin-Platteville majoring in Civil Engineering with a focus on Hydrology. Congratulations, Lily, and best of luck in your future endeavors!

Kurowski Dairy is doing their first chopping of alfalfa and building their first haylage pile of 2026.

By driving on the pile they are packing down the feed into a compact pile which is then covered by a large white tarp. They put heavy tires over it to protect the feed quality which will be used for feeding cows in the future.

When you come to Brunch on the Farm on June 28 you’ll walk right past this new pile!

Caring for our Farm Neighbors is part of what we do in Shawano County. We know that our community steps in during the hard times - but also recognizes the hard work of farmers every day.

Over the last month we delivered 60 care packages to farmers around the county. This initiative caught the attention of Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection (DATCP) and were fortunate to have Secretary Randy Romanski join us for a few deliveries last week.
