A huge thank you to our 4-H volunteers. Thank you for spending your time today talking with exhibitors, recording results and arranging exhibits.

Your support means so much—not only to our 4-H program, but especially to the kids who worked so hard on their projects.

To all of our 4-H exhibitors—congratulations on a job well done. Your dedication and determination are something to be proud of. Thanks for being patient while waiting in line (and some of those lines were long!).

The 2026 Shawano County Fair is off to a great start! Can’t wait to see everyone at the fair!

We can’t wait to see you tomorrow at junior fair judging! We're excited to celebrate everything you’ve accomplished this year through hard work, creativity, and dedication. See you tomorrow, 4‑H and FFA youth!

Just as a reminder, MOST junior project areas/departments will be judged in the Huntington Family 4-H and Youth Building at the Shawano Fairgrounds between 9am and 3 p.m. If you are showing animals, you MUST submit a Vet. Science exhibit tomorrow.

👴🧓Planning Ahead program is coming back again this year offered by Extension-HDRI! This 7-session virtual program is here to help you or your loved one better prepare and plan ahead for the end of life. The program covers everything from advance directives and handling financial changes to estate planning, along with the resources you need to make better end-of-life decisions.

The time to enter your Patti Pumpkinseed at the Shawano County Fair is HERE!!

Patti Pumpkin Seed: Fair Entry
Dept. #114, Class D
· Lot 1 Pumpkin
entire fruit with stem attached or cut to 2” in length.
· Lot 2 Decorated pumpkin
Decorate whole pumpkin with magic markers, hats, fabric pieces, etc.
(Do not cut; jack o lanterns not allowed.)
· Lot 3 Most unique pumpkin
Unusual shape, in a bottle, may embellish etc.

You may enter up to 3 pumpkins, one in each class if you wish. Green Pumpkins are acceptable. Pumpkins will be displayed in the Huntington Family Junior Fair 4-H building during the Fair.

Bring your pumpkins to the fair (Huntington Family Junior Fair 4-H building) on Saturday, August 29th between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m., or Thursday, September 3rd between 3 p.m. and 8 p.m.
Pumpkins may be picked up between 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. on the following Monday (September 7th.)
Pumpkins not picked up by 7 p.m. on September 7th may be disposed of unless arrangements have been made.

Sunflowers will be on display in the Huntington Family 4-H & Youth Building all fair!

Today we mourn the loss of an American icon, a beloved philanthropist and a proud 4-H alumna, Dolly Parton. Her extraordinary life was defined not only by her incredible talent, but by her unwavering generosity, compassion and commitment to helping others.

For generations of young people, Dolly embodied what it means to use your gifts in service of others. From her roots in 4-H to her lifelong investment in literacy, education and community, she showed us that true leadership is grounded in humility, kindness, and purpose. As Dolly once said, "storms make trees take deeper roots." 💚

A proud 4-H alumna, she reminded us that challenges can strengthen us and help us grow. That wisdom will continue to inspire young people and communities for generations to come. We extend our deepest condolences to her family, friends, and the millions whose lives she touched. Her legacy of hope, generosity, and service will live on. 🍀
