Always an honor to be a part of the Wreath Laying Ceremony, Closing Colorguard and participate in the Annual Sharpsburg Memorial Day Parade. It may have been cold, wet and windy but our Scouts channeled their Scout Spirit to honor those who have made the ultimate sacrifice for our country.

Big Thanks to Stone Werks !

Our Scouts recently fired up the coals for our annual Dutch Oven Games at Shafer Park in Town of Boonsboro, Maryland , and the competition was fierce!

We were absolutely thrilled to welcome August and Elisabeth Stone from Stone Werks as our special guest judges.

August and Elisabeth tasted some incredible outdoor cooking, but what impressed them even more was the teamwork, leadership, and hard work our Scouts put into the day.

In an incredibly generous show of community support, they were so inspired by all the participants that they decided to make a financial donation to every single troop that competed.

We are profoundly grateful for the Stones and their belief in local Scouting. Because of community partners like Stone Werks, Troop 2119 can continue providing incredible outdoor adventures, leadership opportunities, and character-building experiences for our youth.

Please join us in sending a massive THANK YOU to August, Elisabeth, and the entire Stone werks team.

This weekend our Scouts camped at Serendipity Horse Meadows and worked on their Horsemanship Merit Badge.

It wasn’t just riding, though—there was plenty of grooming, saddling up, and learning exactly how much work goes into taking care of a horse.

Great work Scouts!

Wondering what all of those tents were in Shafer Park? No it wasn't a homeless encampment (yes the town has gotten that question before).

Scout Troops from Southern Washington County descended onto Shafer Park for the Annual Dutch Oven Games! Scouts participated in a number of Scout skill based challenges like Orienteering (compass land navigation), Pioneering (creating structures from rope and poles), Fire Building, First Aid skills and more.

Later on in the evening Scouts participated in a Cast Iron Cooking competition. Troop 2119 brought their A game with their Middle Eastern Cuisine taking 1st place in the cooking competition and 2nd overall in the whole event. Way to go Scouts!

Its incredible what these young individuals are capable of when they are put in an environment that breeds independence, leadership, and life skills with a safe environment to make mistakes along the way and learn from their failures!

Thank you to the Town of Boonsboro, Maryland for their continued support of local Scouting!

Shout out to Stone Werks and Rick Weaver for being our celebrity judges!

What were your kids up to this weekend?

Nothing beats a weekend at Sinoquipe Scout Reservation

Troop 2119 spent Saturday giving back to camp with Onerahtokha Lodge 297. We spent about six hours hacking away at the brush on the Lake Sinoquipe dam. Check out the size of the pile by noon!

Once we put the tools away, we broke out the cast iron. With the Dutch Oven Games coming up in April, the Scouts spent the evening practicing their recipes over the coals. Based on what we tasted tonight, we’re definitely ready for the competition!

Great weekend of service and some even better food!

This weekend, the Scouts of Troop 2119 successfully completed their annual Introduction to Leadership Skills for Troops (ILST) training. This comprehensive program is designed to provide Scouts with the foundational tools necessary to lead their peers and manage troop operations effectively.

Throughout the session, participants engaged in a series of collaborative challenges focused on enhancing core competencies, including interpersonal communication, strategic problem-solving, and cohesive teamwork.

A significant highlight of the training was the "Trust Trail," an exercise in which Scouts navigated a guided course in sub-freezing temperatures blindfolded through downtown Sharpsburg. This activity required absolute reliance on peer communication and mutual accountability, reinforcing the importance of trust within a leadership structure. Their reward?... well you cant go to Sharpsburg without stopping at Nutters Ice Cream!

We commend these Scouts for their dedication to personal growth and their commitment to the continued success and leadership excellence of Troop 2119.

It is the final day of the "Twelve Days of Scouting," and today we reflect on being Reverent.

For Troop 2119, reverence is a profound sense of respect and connection.

It is the awe we feel when we stand under the stars or hike through a quiet forest, recognizing that we are stewards of this beautiful planet.

It is also the deep respect we hold for the dignity and welfare of every person.

We practice reverence by honoring the diverse beliefs and traditions of our neighbors, listening with open hearts, and dedicating ourselves to the service of humanity.

We believe that living with purpose means protecting the natural world and caring for the people within it.

Help us finish strong.

Your support allows us to continue mentoring young people who are thoughtful, respectful, and deeply connected to their world.
