ACT University Council

ACT University Council University Council is part of the Association for Commuter Transportation (ACT).

The University Council of the Association for Commuter Transportation is North America’s most respected association for professionals who specialize in transportation issues for universities and college campuses. The Council addresses and shares information related to universities, including public-private partnerships, land use, parking management, alternative commute strategies, transit services

, and community involvement. The Council contributes information to ACT’s Connections newsletter, sponsors periodic conference calls, and holds meetings and special sessions during the ACT International Conference. University Council members represent a diverse cross-section of both public and private university (or related) representatives who develop or manage a variety of transportation programs. The core group of participants represents university parking managers, facilities and real estate professionals, human resource managers, transportation planners, transit and shuttle managers, transportation management associations (TMAs), and commute assistance professionals.

I can’t wait to see what they come up with next year.”Hosted by the Division of Administration and supported by the Nashville Civic Design Center, Vanderbilt’s contribution to PARK(ing) Day featured 18 parking spaces located at the corner of Broadway and 20th Avenue that were transformed into a temporary park highlighting sustainable features and materials for the community to enjoy.

Another one of New York City’s partners for the Department of Transportation’s dockless bike share pilot is pulling out of the program. On Thursday, Pace, one of the two companies that rolled out bikes in the Rockaways as part of the program, made an announcement via Twitter that it will remove its bikes from the neighborhood earlier than anticipated, reports Streetsblog.

Pace bikes has decided to exit the pilot program early.

The Association for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education (AASHE) is pleased to announce the 2018 winners of its annual Sustainability Awards for their outstanding achievements and progress toward sustainability. AASHE bestows its prestigious awards on the institutions and individuals that are leading higher education to a sustainable future.
