The City of Sharon Fire Department is proud to recognize six new part-time firefighters who have successfully completed their probationary period and are officially off probation.

Each of these firefighters has put in the time, training, hard work, and dedication required to earn their place in the ranks. They have spent countless hours learning the job, training alongside their brothers and sisters, and preparing themselves to serve the citizens of Sharon.

Today marks an important milestone, but it is only the beginning. The fire service is a lifelong commitment to training, teamwork, service, and always being ready for the call.

Congratulations to all six firefighters! We are proud to have you as part of the City of Sharon Fire Department and look forward to seeing what you accomplish in the years ahead.

Clearly visible address numbers help firefighters, police officers, and emergency medical personnel find your home or business quickly when every second counts.

Take a moment today to make sure your address numbers:
• Use standard numerals (0-9) and are at least 4 inches high
• Contrast clearly with the background
• Face the street to which the property is addressed
• Are mounted on a fixed surface, not on a door
• Are not blocked by trees, shrubs, decorations, or seasonal displays
• Are kept in good condition and are visible at night whenever possible

Please check your own address and encourage your neighbors to do the same. A few minutes spent improving visibility now could save valuable time during an emergency.

🚒🏃‍♂️ Fitness. Brotherhood. Community. Service. ❤️

Today, members of the City of Farrell Fire Department, proudly represented by IAFF Local 417, the City of Farrell Police Department, other City of Farrell employees, neighboring fire departments, and community members came together to support the Mercer County Food Bank 5K.

For firefighters and police officers, physical fitness isn’t just about personal health—it’s an essential part of serving our community. Every emergency call demands strength, endurance, and resilience. Staying physically fit allows us to better protect and serve the citizens who count on us every day.

We’re incredibly proud to announce that Team City of Farrell earned the award for Largest Team Overall! This achievement reflects the dedication, teamwork, and community spirit shared by our firefighters, IAFF Local 417 members representing the City of Farrell Fire Department, police officers, city employees, and everyone who proudly represented the City of Farrell.

A special congratulations goes out to Firefighter Gates and Firefighter Clemente for each earning 1st Place in their respective age groups. Their outstanding performances are a testament to the dedication our firefighters have to maintaining the physical fitness required to serve our community at the highest level.

A heartfelt thank you to the Mercer County Food Bank for the incredible work they do to fight hunger throughout our region. It was an honor to support such an important cause while promoting health, wellness, and community involvement.

Today’s event wasn’t just about crossing the finish line—it was about investing in our health, strengthening the bonds between our city departments, and giving back to the community we’re proud to serve every day.
