Troop 164, Sharon congratulates Lena O’Leary on becoming an Eagle Scout!

On Thursday January 23rd Lena earned the rank of Eagle Scout. This is something she had been working for since September 4, 2019, when Troop 164, Sharon was founded. Lena was one of the original six youth to join. At 11 she was also the youngest.

Over the years, Lena has earned 30 Merit Badges some of her favorites include: Archery; Sailing; Automotive Maintenance; and Swimming.

Lena has served her troop as Quartermaster, Assistant Senior Patrol Leader, Senior Patrol Leader, and Junior Assistant Scoutmaster. She has attended summer camp at Camp Squanto in Plymouth, MA, gone canoeing, backpacking, hiking, whitewater rafting, ziplining, and participated in countless other fun and challenging events.

Lena is currently a junior in high school. Her Eagle Scout Project was to build a raised garden bed for the Sharon Community Garden. Those who cannot kneel all the way to the ground or who use a wheelchair will have an accessible space for them to enjoy gardening.

Troop 164 applauds and congratulates Lena O’Leary on this great achievement. We look forward to her future successes and thank her for the role model that she is to the many scouts that will follow her.
