Last summer during the C.O.O.L. program students created some gelli plate prints and layered them with their very own custom stamps created with foamy shapes!

Students learned about color blending through creating gradients with the brayers. Students who used letters in their designs found out through some trial and error that certain printmaking processes mirror images and letters have to be reverses to print correctly, but they nailed!

Farrell students kicked off the W.I.N. program with HopeCAT by starting these collaborative canvases! These are worked on throughout the weeks and students build off of what others have started. As layers are added, painted and drawn these evolve into really exciting compositions! 🌞🖊🖌🖍

Cut and paste Picasso faces came to life and even took shape! 👁👃👅 Students colored in eyes, mouths, and noses and arranged them on abstract shapes out of constructions paper. Some even folded their construction paper into 3D shape so it would stand! Talk about Cubism! 🤣

🎨🤩 Had a blast using the new Posca paint markers in open studio last week! Students were able to blend colors while still having the control drawing with a pen gives you. 🖊 The paint layered great over some gelli plate prints and really popped with a black outline and white highlights! ✨

Thursday night adult art classes are the place to be! Glass crafting class took place in the print shop and how cool do the pieces of glass look on the light table! 🤯🌈✨

Students laid out their designs and will solder them together next time! Can't wait to see all of these pieces hanging in the sun! 🌞🎨

Don't forget all the studios are open on Thursday nights! 6:00 to 8:00pm!

Printers can really build up a print by printing it on toned paper or using a gradient. This gives the impression of a two color run almost! Keep up the great work!!
