A heartfelt thank you to Stewart's Shops for their generous support of our recent Big Draw workshop in Cherry Valley. Their contribution, along with support from New York State Council on the Arts, Community Foundation of Otsego County, and the generosity of the Cherry Valley Old School, which donated space, helped us keep this creative community event free and accessible to all.

Meet the Poet 📚 Paul Muldoon

Festival founder Paul Muldoon was born in 1951 in Northern Ireland and studied at Queen’s University, Belfast. He published his first collection, New Weather (1973), at age 21. Muldoon is the author of fifteen poetry collections, including Joy in Service on Rue Tagore (2024) and the Pulitzer Prize-winning Moy Sand and Gravel (2002).

His work also includes criticism, libretti, children’s books, lyrics, and drama, and has been translated into twenty languages. A former Oxford Professor of Poetry and poetry editor at The New Yorker, he teaches at Princeton University. His many honors include the T.S. Eliot Prize, Griffin Prize, and Queen’s Gold Medal for Poetry.

Meet the Poet 📚 Timothy Donnelly

Timothy Donnelly Donnelly is an assistant professor and director of undergraduate creative writing at Columbia University, and the author of the poetry collections Twenty-seven Props for a Production of Eine Lebenszeit (2003), The Cloud Corporation (2010), which won the Kingsley Tufts Poetry Award, and The Problem of the Many (2020). He earned a BA from the Johns Hopkins University, an MFA from Columbia University, and a PhD from Princeton University.
