The OCSO Sheriff's Star Charity family is heartbroken by the loss of Sgt. Jonathan "John" Schlager.

John was more than a member of our law enforcement family; he embodied the very kind of servant's heart this charity exists to honor and support. His years of dedicated service to the citizens of Okaloosa County, his compassion for others, and his commitment to showing up when it matters most reflect the very values that form the foundation of the Sheriff's Star Charity mission.

Today, we stand alongside his wife, his child, his family, and every member of the OCSO family as they carry an unimaginable weight.

We ask our community, those who knew John, those whose lives he touched, and those who simply believe in honoring the people who serve, to keep his family and our entire OCSO family in your prayers.

To his wife and child: John's legacy of love, leadership, and service will not be forgotten. We are here.

Rest easy, Sergeant Schlager.

For ten years Seaside Engineering and Surveying, LLC (SEAS) has partnered with community business organizations to host a law enforcement appreciation luncheon for the agencies of Northwest Florida during National Law Enforcement Memorial Week. This year SEAS went above and beyond with donations to the Crestview Police Foundation and the OCSO Sheriff's Star Charity. Thank you SEAS for always supporting the men and women who stand guard each day to keep our community safe. 🚓💙🙏🏽
