⚾️ Kicking off summer may look like just another day at the ballpark—but it’s not.

Teams travel hours for the opportunity to play the game they love. Baseball is more than a sport; it’s a place where perseverance, discipline, teamwork, and character are developed. The heat, long days, competition, and commitment become part of the journey.

This is where teams grow stronger together. This is where relationships are built, leaders emerge, and character is tested and refined.

For FCA, camp season is about more than wins and losses. It’s about investing in coaches and athletes, sharing the hope of Christ, and helping young people understand the impact and influence they have on those around them.

A special thank you to Choctaw, Niceville, George County, Holmes County, Port St. Joe, and South Walton for making this first week of FCA Camp Season such a success. Thank you to the coaches, athletes, volunteers, and families who made memories, built relationships, and represented their schools with excellence.

Day 2 of Baseball Camp Week

This is more than baseball.

When you have a sport like baseball, families show up. Parents fill the stands. Siblings of all ages run around the ballpark. Grandparents cheer from behind the fence. Communities gather together around the game.

The coaches have often worked full-time jobs, invested countless hours in their players, and then choose to spend part of their summer bringing their teams together for a reset, fellowship, and competition with programs from other communities.

It’s more than baseball.

It’s more than a sport.

It’s about relationships, mentorship, and creating opportunities for young people to be seen, encouraged, challenged, and loved.

These coaches could be at home resting. They could be focusing only on their own needs or spending the day elsewhere with their families. Instead, they choose to invest in something bigger than themselves.

Because this is family—God’s family.

They make room for everyone. They welcome players, parents, siblings, volunteers, and guests. They understand that every conversation, every prayer, every meal shared, and every game played is an opportunity to love people well and point them toward Christ.

Today, we celebrate the game of baseball, but even more, we celebrate the people who make it meaningful.

Baseball is the vehicle. Relationships are the mission. Christ is the reason. ⚾❤️✝️

Summer Camp Season is Underway! 🔥⚾️

Niceville High School, alongside Emerald Coast FCA, kicked off the summer camp season with an incredible day of baseball, fellowship, devotion, and prayer.

We were honored to host George County, South Walton, and Niceville High School as athletes competed with excellence, built relationships, and were encouraged in their faith.

More than just baseball, the day was a reminder that our purpose extends beyond the field. Through fellowship, a devotional message, and time in prayer, athletes were challenged to keep Christ at the center of all they do.

Thank you to the coaches, players, volunteers, and supporters who made the day such a success. We are excited for all God has in store this summer!

The South Walton senior and Auburn signee capped a 30-4 Class 3A state title season with the state's top baseball honor, joining a legacy that includes Clayton Kershaw and MacKenzie Gore.

Even though school is out for the summer, there are many opportunities for Choctaw students to stay involved in athletics.
All rising 9th–12th grade student-athletes must have a completed athletic packet uploaded to Athletic Clearance and be cleared before participating in any athletic activities. Every student-athlete should be approved for the 2026–2027 school year.
Parents may use a current physical completed during the 2025–2026 school year and upload it to Athletic Clearance for the upcoming school year.

Mission Partnership Sunday at First Baptist Church of Fort Walton Beach!

What a blessing to share the ministry of Emerald Coast FCA with the congregation and to have our student leaders share firsthand about the impact God is making through FCA across our schools and teams.

Thank you, Pastor Trenton, for your heart for discipleship and missions, and for creating opportunities for your church family to engage in the work God is doing through FCA. We are grateful for your commitment to helping people discover meaningful ways to serve, volunteer, pray, mentor, and invest in the next generation.

Together, we are reaching coaches and athletes to and through the coach, equipping student leaders, and advancing His Kingdom throughout the Emerald Coast.

🎓 What a blessing tonight was at Fort Walton Beach High School as seniors from Fort Walton Beach and Choctaw gathered for Baccalaureate 2026 on May 20th. Parents, Families and Friends attended to honor their seniors in their faith walk.

This student-led night beautifully reflected Worship • Word • Prayer as students courageously led throughout the evening. From the Posting of the Colors by FWB ROTC, to the Valhallas singing our National Anthem, every moment pointed toward faith, unity, and purpose.

A special thank you to our guest speaker, Jared Green from First Baptist Church, for sharing a powerful message on Faithfulness and the importance of finding your community in every next step ahead. Worship included Scripture readings, the Word from Acts, and Prayer led by our student leaders.

We are grateful for the support and blessing from both principals, Lindsey Smith and Michelle Heck, who continue to encourage and support and love their students well.

One of the most meaningful moments of the night was community leaders presenting seniors with the opportunity to receive a Bible that had been prayed over and blessed with handwritten encouragement from Donnie & Karen Crosson, Vince Bruner Sr., Mike Whitfield, and Mary & Edwin Watts.

Praise be to God for His faithfulness, for His family, and for the future of these students and families throughout our community.

VIKINGS SIGNING DAY: Athletic Director Holly McDaniel had reason to be proud Monday afternoon.

The Fort Walton Beach High School athletic director stood before 21 student-athletes, their families and coaches, all gathered to celebrate a signing day that reflected just how strong a year it was for Viking athletics. Twenty-one student-athletes across 12 sports signed letters of intent to compete at the next level.

“You have left a stamp on this school,” McDaniel told the group in her opening remarks.

And left a stamp they did, all in different ways.

Discipline, attitude, perseverance, and refusing to quit help shape who we become — not only as athletes, but as people. The impact of coaches speaking into our lives helps define character, leadership, and purpose.

FCA 360 Coaching goes beyond the scoreboard, the field, or the game itself. It reaches the heart and soul of the athlete through the influence of coaches who lead with integrity, service, teamwork, and excellence.

This is bigger than sports.It’s about building men and women of faith, character, and influence who will impact others for Christ both on and off the field.
