Dr. Glasner and members of the Board,
I'm writing to introduce https://www.buildshakerbetter.com/ , an independent website created to provide a central location to find information and discussion about the progress of the Shaker School's Long-term Master Facilities master plan. Together with several other members of the former Facilities Advisory Committee, we've gathered information from a variety of school and city sources, and organized it in a way that we hope will be easy for families, teachers, residents, and others to navigate.
Our intent is to provide a fuller picture of this $187 million set of projects so as to better facilitate understanding of their ongoing progress. We believe these projects can achieve stronger results with robust two-way engagement and partnership with informed stakeholders. By providing this overview of the scope, complexity, and challenges of this important undertaking, we also hope to make clear the urgent need for the District to increase its project management capabilities by retaining expertise with the time and professional experience necessary to fully focus on realizing the successful ex*****on of the work.
I know we all share the goal that these projects be the best they can be for the benefit of our children and our community, now and for decades into the future. We believe better information sharing and engagement will lead to that more successful result. We welcome your clarifications, corrections, and submissions, and those of the community as well.
