We are super excited to go kayaking again in September with Cleveland Metroparks Adaptive Outdoor Recreation. Their OT Megan makes amazing things happen!

That’s a wrap on our summer session here at Recreation Club! We ended on the highest note with a scenic hike, followed by an extra special park celebration to wish ‘B’ a very happy birthday! Days like today remind us how special this community truly is.
Huge thanks to our incredible staff and volunteers for making this spring/summer unforgettable. Have the best break, stay active, and mark your calendars: we are back for our fall session on Saturday, September 12.

Every morning at Recreation Club, we fuel our brains and lift our spirits before biking and hiking. Because no two participants are exactly alike, we custom-tailor every single moment to make sure everyone shines!

PUZZLES AND GAMES: Scaled from high-speed strategy matches to single step visual challenges.
READING & LITERACY: Picture-based storytelling to independent book discussions. Reading together sharpens focus, builds vital communication skills, boosts vocabulary, and expands imagination!
MUSIC: High energy group sing-alongs, instrument play, and peaceful rhythm stations to meet every sensory need.
BIBLE TIME: Lessons from the Bible, interactive faith discussions for some, paired with sensory-friendly visual storytelling for others.
Once our minds are energized, and our hearts are full, we head out for an afternoon of adaptive biking and hiking! We are all about building confidence, fitness, and lifelong friendships in a faith-filled, inclusive space.

We love our outdoor adventures, but sometimes bad weather or in this case, poor air quality, requires us to pivot. When the forecast doesn’t cooperate, we head to Plan B~ our local library! The library is a fantastic, sensory friendly fallback for our teens and young adults. It gives us a cool, accessible environment to stay connected, keep up our routines, and enjoy the afternoon.
READING & RELAXING: Diving into books & magazines
TECH TIME: Using library computers for interactive games and learning
SOUNDPROOF STUDY ROOMS: A nice upgrade for our participants who express themselves a little louder! These private spaces let us read out loud, listen to audiobooks or chat without worrying about disturbing other library patrons.

We had a great time on the trails, followed by some quality time at the nature center checking out some local wildlife and completing some fun, hands-on activities. Being out in nature and experiencing all the sensory & social benefits of the outdoors is so important for our community.

Our real photographer was out this week so we don’t have our usual quality pictures. However our participants still had their usual fun and active Saturday!

While our participants spend Saturdays hiking,biking,playing corn hole, and doing other activities, their caregivers get an 8-hour break to recharge and connect with their spouse and other children.

Co****le is back!
We believe that recreation should be accessible, empowering, and above all, fun for everyone. Whether someone is standing, seated, or needs a little extra guidance and verbal coaching from our staff, we tailor the game to fit the player! Co****le is a perfect opportunity to practice hand-eye coordination, build teamwork, and most importantly, socialize and share some laughs. We make sure everyone feels supported and confident!
