As many of you who follow may have seen from East Tech Rescue Announcement Firefighter Dan Peter officially retired from the Shaker Heights Fire Department this past week.

We would like to share well wishes as Firefighter Paramedic Dan Peter officially retires from the Shaker Heights Fire Department. Danfaithfully served the citizens of Shaker Heights, its visitors, and his brother and sisters of IAFF Local 516 for over 32 years.

Dan will always be known as the guy who could fix just about anything you asked. Dan came to the Shaker Heights Fire Department from a Dairy Farm and if you know Dan he didn't regret that decision one bit.

Dan will always be known for his willingness to drop everything to help others, his ability to cook at hog at the Union picnics, always having a leatherman, and always being the first to offer to jump off a building on a rope. The Fire Department, the city, and the Union truly lose an immense about of knowledge and skill with Dan's retirement that won't soon be matched.

Thank you Dan for everything you brought to this department during your 32 plus years you have definitely left your mark and the next senior guy has a lot to live up to!
