🐾 💙 We are so excited to work with SCS’s new principal! 💙 🐾

Dear Shady Cove Families, Students, and Staff,

I am honored to join Shady Cove School as your new principal. I wanted to take a moment to introduce myself and share how excited I am to become part of this community.

I bring more than 20 years of experience in education, having worked as a classroom teacher, district leader, and English learner program coordinator. Most recently, I served as Special Projects Director for Prospect Charter School District. Across every role, the thread that has stayed constant is this: I care deeply about students, and I believe the best work happens when families, staff, and community members are true partners in a child's education.

Meeting current staff has been the highlight of joining Shady Cove so far. I felt energized by the warmth, dedication, and pride I heard in every description of this school. I know that a change in leadership can bring a mix of emotions. I want to say clearly, I deeply respect the strengths already here at SCS, and the relationships and traditions that make this school what it is. My goal is not to walk in with all the answers, but to walk in ready to listen, learn, and build relationships with each of you.

In the coming weeks, I look forward to meeting students in the hallways, connecting with staff, and getting to know families across our community. Shady Cove is a place with a strong sense of identity, and I am grateful for the opportunity to be part of its next chapter.

Thank you for the warm welcome so far. I can't wait for the year ahead.

🐾 We know school starts September 8th and we have some wonderful things to plan for our current and new students to have an amazing school year at Shady Cove! Summer meals for kids in the community still available in Shady Cove! 🍎 🍌 💙

Looking for healthy meals for your children this summer?
Eagle Point School District's Summer Eats program provides free meals for kids and teens throughout the summer at several locations across our community. It's a great opportunity for students to enjoy nutritious meals, connect with friends, and stay fueled for summer activities.

🍏🚨Attention Shady Cove families!🚨🍏

This year, the Eagle Point School District was approved for a special waiver that allows them to provide free summer meals to all children and teens ages 18 and under from our Shady Cove cafeteria. Children do not need to be enrolled in Eagle Point School District to participate—anyone 18 and under is eligible.

In addition to enjoying meals on site (every Tuesday and Wednesday), the waiver also allows each child to pick up two breakfasts and two lunches to take home each Wednesday. These convenient To-Go meal bags are designed to help provide nutritious meals throughout the week at no cost to families.

Shady Cove School is excited to welcome our incoming kindergarten students to Kindergarten Academy. All incoming SCS kindergarten students are invited to attend this fun and engaging program designed to help students feel comfortable, confident, and excited for the start of school.

Kindergarten Academy will take place August 17–20, Monday through Thursday, from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

Breakfast and lunch will be provided each day. Transportation is also available for students who are eligible for regular school-year bus transportation. If you are unsure about bus boundaries, please contact the bus barn at 830-1245.

This registration form will also help Shady Cove School plan for the next school year and for the Kindergarten Academy program.

Is your student missing a jacket, water bottle, lunchbox, hat, or other item? Now is the time to check our Lost & Found!

📍 Lost & Found items will be displayed on tables in the lower parking lot off Schoolhouse Lane.

Please stop by and claim your items by Thursday at 2:00 PM.

❤️ All unclaimed items will be donated on Friday, June 19.

Shady Cove School: There will be a “volunteer” breakfast for current volunteers at Shady Cove School on June 10, 8:30 - 9:30 by our Principal Heather Marrs. This is a way to acknowledge all the volunteers that help out during the school year. Please come and enjoy a breakfast with fellow volunteers! Thank you one & all for your hard work!
