To reiterate the info shared from Gloucester Vol. Fire and Rescue - While drought conditions continue across our area, we strongly urge everyone to avoid outdoor burning whenever possible.
Dry vegetation, low humidity, and even light winds can allow a small fire to spread quickly and become difficult to control. What may start as a routine debris burn can rapidly threaten homes, property, farmland, woodlands, etc.
Please use caution and consider postponing any non-essential burning until conditions improve. If you've burned recently, be mindful that it could reignite if the conditions are right. Your cooperation helps protect our community, our firefighters, and our shared resources.
We appreciate your help in reducing the risk of wildfires during this extended dry period.
