Come see our impressive Stary Stary Night Hibiscus!

Hibiscus moscheutos 'Starry Starry Night' is a show-stopping hardy perennial rose mallow featuring enormous 7-8 inch pale pink flowers with dark pink speckling and a bright red eye. The massive blooms contrast beautifully against striking, nearly black, maple-like foliage. It blooms from mid-summer through early fall.

Key Growing RequirementsLight: Thrives in full sun for the darkest foliage and the most abundant blooms.
Soil & Moisture: Prefers moist to wet, well-drained soils. They can even tolerate boggy areas or temporary standing water.
Size: Forms a compact, bushy mound about 4 feet tall and 4 feet wide.
Hardiness: USDA Zones 4 through 9.
Care: They are late to emerge in the spring, but grow very quickly once established. Cut the dead stems back to a few inches tall in late fall or early spring

We hope the community has been enjoying our Flag Project again this year! We recently celebrated Flag Day and it's always such an impressive site to see the visual impact this project makes in our town. Flags have already been collected & put in storage in prep for the next event. If you are interested in participating, please contact City Hall or People's Bank and ask how to participate!

History of Flag Day: On June 14, 1777, the Second Continental Congress passed a resolution stating that the flag of the United States should feature 13 stripes, alternating red and white, and 13 white stars on a blue field to represent a new constellation.

President Woodrow Wilson established the national observance of Flag Day in 1916. On August 3, 1949, President Harry Truman officially signed the legislation making it a national observance.
