Seymour Young Marines

Seymour Young Marines The Young Marines is a not-for-profit youth education program for boys and girls ages 8 through 18. We meet for two 13 week sessions per year. until 12:30 p.m.

One in the Spring and the other in the Fall. The initial cost of the program is a one time fee of $165.00, to cover all registration and uniform costs. Each 13 week session that follows costs only $65 at the beginning of that session. The meetings are held at Seymour Decorating Center (220 S Chestnut, Seymour IN) on Saturday mornings from 9:30 a.m. The Young Marines strengthens the lives of Americ

a's youth by teaching the importance of self-confidence, academic achievement, honoring our veterans, good citizenship, community service, and a healthy, drug-free lifestyle. Young Marines learn new skills, and earn rank. They earn ribbons in areas such as CPR, swimming, map reading, drug prevention training, conservation, first aid, academic achievement, community service and physical fitness. All Young Marines must be actively enrolled in public, private or certified homeschool. Failure to maintain enrollment in one of the above is grounds for dismissal from the program. You may be asked to provide documentation for proof of enrollment.

We have some big changes coming for the Seymour Young Marine in 2026!!!

First we are changing our drill days!!! We will no longer hold drill on Saturday mornings, we will now be meeting Sunday afternoons!! 🤩 we are hoping with this change, the kids that have to miss out because of sports will now have the opportunity to participate!!

Also, the next (and possibly biggest change of all!!) we are restructuring our recruit program!! No longer will you have to attend 13 weeks of classroom time!! We are packing it into a fun filled, fast paced learning weekend!! We are so excited to try out this new way of recruit training!!!
