Seymour Young Marines The Young Marines is a not-for-profit youth education program for boys and girls ages 8 through 18. We meet for two 13 week sessions per year. until 12:30 p.m.

One in the Spring and the other in the Fall. The initial cost of the program is a one time fee of $165.00, to cover all registration and uniform costs. Each 13 week session that follows costs only $65 at the beginning of that session. The meetings are held at Seymour Decorating Center (220 S Chestnut, Seymour IN) on Saturday mornings from 9:30 a.m. The Young Marines strengthens the lives of Americ

a's youth by teaching the importance of self-confidence, academic achievement, honoring our veterans, good citizenship, community service, and a healthy, drug-free lifestyle. Young Marines learn new skills, and earn rank. They earn ribbons in areas such as CPR, swimming, map reading, drug prevention training, conservation, first aid, academic achievement, community service and physical fitness. All Young Marines must be actively enrolled in public, private or certified homeschool. Failure to maintain enrollment in one of the above is grounds for dismissal from the program. You may be asked to provide documentation for proof of enrollment.

Last week, several of our Young Marines traveled to southern Ohio to attend the Division 3 Leadership School. YM/Sgt Siefker and YM/Sgt Broshears were students in the Senior Leadership School (SLS), while YM/MGySgt Weber, YM/MGySgt Antonio Viera, and YM/SSgt Drake Viera were Cadre. These dedicated Young Marines spent all week developing discipline, teamwork, and leadership skills! The school ended Saturday with a graduation ceremony where YM/Sgt Broshears won the 'Iron Mike' award, and Antonio Viera was promoted to YM/MGySgt.

💙 A huge THANK YOU to Immanuel Lutheran Church for allowing the Seymour Young Marines to serve alongside you at the Jackson County Fair food booth on Monday, July 27!

What an incredible experience it was! Our Young Marines worked hard, served with smiles, and represented our unit with honor, respect, and teamwork. We couldn't be more proud of these outstanding young men and women. They did an absolutely amazing job!

Thank you, Immanuel Lutheran Church, for giving our youth the opportunity to serve such a great cause and to be a part of your food booth. Community partnerships like this help teach our Young Marines the value of service, leadership, and giving back.

We truly appreciate your kindness and support. We look forward to serving with you again in the future! ❤️

This past Saturday, The Seymour Young Marines celebrated The 4th of July by honoring five extraordinary local veterans before the towns evening fireworks. The ceremony began with a Presentation of Colors by the Seymour Young Marines, followed by YM/Sgt Siefker reading inspiring stories of our five local heroes: Jim Drummond, Toby Milroy, Brian Fleetwood, Gary W. Dyer, and Don Morgan. Each veteran was escorted to the staging area in a restored WWII military jeep and presented with a special gift in appreciation of their service to our nation.
Thank you to everyone who attended the ceremony and helped us celebrate and honor our remarkable veterans!
